We ignite fire properly Under the slogan «We ignite fire properly» Schmid produces in Havelland heating and fireplace inserts for tiled stoves and fireplaces in demanding quality and everything «Made in Germany». The products are designed, edited and commissioned in the headquarters in Bissendorf near Osnabrück. The company Schmid has many years of experience and deep knowledge in the field of firing technology. The high quality standards of technology, design and manufacture ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction. The range includes: heating inserts, fireplace inserts and fireplace cassettes for retrofitting open-fireplaces, fireplace doors and extensive accessories. For an individual request custom-made fireplace inserts can also be implemented. Furthermore, fireplace and heating inserts are offered, with a hot water boiler option for the central heating circuit. 5
Schmid Fireplace inserts master crafted Smooth running and air-tightness Using special low friction bearings the fireplace door can be opened and closed without exertion. When the door is closed, the seals are pressed against the stove body. All front parts are also interchangeable and easily replaceable. Adjustable air guide On a sports car it is the spoiler, with good firing technology the air baffle. Depending on the demand, an adjustment of the combustion air can effect small miracles. The inner liner Plain or with masonry look, of course, natural sand color or in black. With a strong heat reflection from vermiculite or heat storage of fireclay. Quality made in Germany 45 90 180 The cast dome The cast dome is the main heat exchanger of the fireplace. The hot gases which are redirected internally and mixed with preheated oxygen accumulate here. Cast iron stands for high stability and longevity! The dome rotates in all directions, and is easily adjustable for any connection possibility. Optional door fronts Double Glazing Two glasses in one door frame! Crystal printed glass 4-sides, longitudinally framed double glazing. Crystal + printed glass 3-sides, frameless bottom, single glazing. Handles The handles are made out of heat-resistent PTFE, also available with coloured glass. The handle holder is anthracite, chrome or gold plated or solid stainless steel - suitable to the desired front. Maintenance Safety All functional parts can be reached from the inside through maintenance shafts. This is important for fireplace inserts with a retractable glass door, for example for servicing the rails, rollers or counterweights. Glazing strips - the difference in detail The ceramic glass sections are held in place by angled glass strips. The ash hardly forms deposits and the door remains dust-free. The fireplace door Anthracite coated finish, chrome or gold plated - the choice is yours! And all the front parts incorporated can easily be replaced at any time, if desired.. Wonderful adjustable Only one lever to adjust the combustion air. With the one-hand lever, the Schmid fireplace insert is easily operated. 7
Heating with wood is environment friendly Unlike fossil fuels such as oil, gas and coal, wood is a renewable resource. Wood also burns CO ²-neutral because the carbon dioxide produced during the combustion corresponds to the same amount, which the tree has absorbed out of the air during its growth. In order for wood to burn effectively and clean, it must not exceed a wood moisture of 20%. Seasoned wood reaches this value after 2-3 years. The wood must be well ventilated and protected from moisture. Freshly cut softwood timber has a relative humidity of up to 70% and hardwoods up to 100% (water content = 50%). Moist wood has little heating value. The energy content in the wood is required in this case to evaporate the water in the wood. A wood fire should always be burned with sufficient oxygen. The bound carbon in the wood fiber becomes gaseous above a certain temperature. In this way the flame and the temperature is formed. Depending on the firing technology a temperature of up to 900 C will be reached. Based on the Ekko and Lina series we have complete water boiler units in our sortiment. Connected and coupled with a buffer to the heating circuit, the boiler unit takes over a part of the heating and hot water supply. Another way to use the fire to heat the water are our top mounted water boilers. These can also be installed in retrospect if sufficient space is left in the construction of the surroundings of the fireplace. Ask your installer! 24
