EVENT GUIDELINES & SAFETY STANDARDS EVENT SUMMARY: Racewars in conjunction with Forged Magazine will host a 1/8 th mile knock out racing session made famous by the hit TV series Street Outlaws. The 1/8 th mile format enables a fast flowing evening of racing and promises to be one of the most hotly contested sessions of the weekend. 2018 CLASS STRUCTURE: (Final fields & classes subject to The Racemasters determination on race day) Outlaw Class: (Invitational Pre registration is required) If it has 4 wheels and doors you can race (Anything not permitted in Street Class) Winner takes all. Capped at 32 car field Real Street Class AWD / 2WD: (Pre-registration is strongly advised) Must be able to legally drive to and from the track (Will have an independent party to adjudicate this point). No wheelie bars. DOT approved tyres only (Drag Radials permitted) AWD winner gets 40% of the pot, RWD winner gets 40% of the pot then let the 2WD & AWD champs battle it out for bragging rights and the remaining 20% of the pot. The Racemaster will advise all pre-registered entrants of their class allocation prior to race day. The Racemaster s decision is final. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: - All drivers must be over the age of 18yr s. - General Public Passengers are not permitted during the Knock out Racing rounds. Event Staff or approved instructors may be permitted to be onboard competing vehicles with Event Managements approval. - All drivers must wear an approved helmet (AS/NZS 1698 minimum) with long sleeve shirt and long pants and enclosed shoes. (Clothing must be of fire resistant material as a minimum - no nylon). - ALL VEHICLES WILL BE SUBJECT TO A PRE EVENT INSPECTION TO CHECK FOR SUITABILITY AND SAFETY. - 1. STREET CLASS DEFINITION o A Street Class Vehicle is defined as a car that is street registered or capable of being street registered this includes B-Reg or Historic registered cars. o A car can compete even if it has a Yellow Sticker. o The Racemaster will decide if a vehicle meets the definition of a Street Class vehicle should there be conjecture around cars suitability. o Entrants are encouraged to respect the spirit of the event and take a common sense / fair play approach. - 2. MECHANICAL AND BODY o No Fluid leaks o All enclosed vehicles are required to have operational doors. o Open top vehicles must have a suitable roll protection structure o Automatics must have an operational neutral safety switch o Radiator must have an overflow catch tank. o Battery must be secured with a clamp or bracket. o All vehicles must have at least one working taillight. o Bonnets may be removed for certain vehicles with prior Event Management Approval however this will only be permitted in exceptional circumstances.

MODIFICATIONS o For Street Class vehicles the body must not be modified beyond acceptable street legal limits. o The engine, transmission, brakes and suspension springs may be modified provided they fit the 'Road Going' definition above. o Management reserves the right to reclassify any entry of any car modified beyond a road-going street registered capable car. o No changes are to be made to the vehicle after it has been scrutineered unless the vehicle has been presented again to scrutineering. - 4. VEHICLE HEIGHTS o Vehicles must present ready to race with a ride height safe and suitable for racing on an unprepared airstrip and utilizing the airfields paddock area for staging. o Vehicles with cut springs or substantial lift kits may be excluded from competition if they are deemed to be in a condition not safe and suitable to race. - 5. EXHAUST o Street Class vehicles must have a street-type exhaust and mufflers. - 6. INTERIOR o As a guide Street Class Vehicles should have complete interiors with the exception of vehicles where safety devices such a roll cages are fitted. o All door handles must be operational. o Seats to be in good supportive condition. The fitment of approved racing seats is encouraged. o OEM or similar seatbelts are considered a minimum to compete for Street Class vehicles. The use of approved racing harnesses is encouraged. o No vehicle without seatbelts fitted shall be permitted to compete. No exceptions. o There are to be no loose objects within the interior. All loose items must be removed. o Windows must be up / closed for each pass - 7. WHEELS AND TYRES o All wheel nuts must be used and secured tight. o No hub cabs or dress rims allowed. o Tyre types must match front to back. o Slicks are permitted for Outlaw Class vehicles only. o D.O.T. Approved Drag Radials are permitted for Street Class vehicles. o All wheels and tyres must be in a safe and suitable condition to race. - 8. DRIVER LICENSING AND PASSENGERS o Drivers and riders must hold an Australian license (or proof they held a license) o Valid Competition Drivers License s may be used as a substitute with Event Management Approval o No L-Plate drivers or entrants under the age of 18 permitted. o P-Plate drivers are permitted. o For promotional or coaching purposes only with prior permission from Event Management and subject to meeting the relevant event safety criteria will passenger rides be permitted. o Outlaw Class competitors are expected to compete with suitable driver safety equipment to allow them to meet the driver safety requirements to compete in ANDRA or similar sanctioned events.
- 9. NITROUS o Nitrous Oxide is permitted for all vehicles with prior approval from Event Management o All vehicles using Nitrous Oxide must display special markers located on the outside of the vehicle, in the area where the supply bottle is located and in the top left corner of the front windscreen. The marker shall be a yellow diamond, with N20 printed in black letters. o Please refer to the Use of Nitrous Oxide Regulations found in the Racewars 2017 event regulations for further detail. - 10. DRIVING STANDARDS o Please turn off the cars air conditioner once you enter the staging area. o Neither driver, nor passengers (if applicable) are permitted to use a hand held mobile phone once they enter the staging area. o The use of Go-Pro or other action cameras is encouraged providing they are secured to the vehicle using correctly applied approved mounting equipment. o All competitors must follow all information and warning signs (including speed limit signs) as well as all officials directions at all times. o Any burnouts outside of designated burnout area will result in eviction from the event. o Wheel spin MUST be minimized on the airstrip. Spinning Isn t Winning o Drivers and passengers (if applicable) must wear all safety gear until they return to the pit area. o Jumping the light, crossing in to the other competitor s lane, failing to slow down at the end of a pass or driving in a manner deemed to be not in the spirit of the event will result in eviction from the event. o If your vehicle suffers a mechanical failure or begins to leak fluid pull off the racing line immediately as practical and come to a stop as soon as possible. If fitted please activate your hazard lights and if safe to do so wait for Staff to attend prior to leaving your vehicle. ENTRY PROCESS: - All entries are subject to The Racemaster s approval. - Entrants are advised to pre-register their interest via the Racewars website. - Entrants will be required to fill out a competitor entry form, sign a Competitor waiver. - Entrants will be subject to a breath test and are required to return a reading of 0.00 - Entrants will be required to attend a pre-race drivers briefing. - Entrants will pay their buy in and be allocated their 1 st round match up s after the drivers briefing. - Should an entrant loose an elimination heat and be subsequently eliminated they may elect to buy in again at 2x the original buy in rate subject to the Racemaster s approval. - The buy in is $100 AUD with 100% of proceeds going to the pot and payable in cash to the Racemaster. MATCH UP PROCESS: - Prior to the commencement of each round a list of elimination round match ups will be drawn at random. - Any re buy in s must occur prior to the next match up draw. - Competitor s names for each elimination match up will be drawn at random from a hat by the Racemaster. - The competitor drawn first will be given the choice of lane. - All match up s are final. - In the event of a competitor having their opponent forfeit or being allocated a bye for any reason they must complete a full solo pass in order to move to the next round. RACING PROTOCOLS: - All races will be started by the Racemaster or assistant using a flash light with all races over a standing 1/8 th mile. - Entrants are permitted to utilize the burnout box to warm their tyres prior to racing. Only small burnouts will be possible. - No powerskids will be tolerated. Throttles work both ways if you get loose; get off it, grip up and feed the power in again. Spinning isn t winning. - No additional track prep will be undertaken or permitted &Staging time will be limited to ensure the event flows at good pace. - Please discuss any specific staging requirements your vehicle may have with the Racemaster prior to racing. - The winner will be the first person to cross the finish line. - Competitors will be disqualified for jumping the start, crossing in to the other lane or driving in a manner contrary to the spirit of the event. The Racemaster s decision is always final.
