EN ANNEX I Physical object of the major project Infrastructure investment 1. Title of project: Modernisation of Cegléd traction substation, the line section Gyoma (excl.) Békéscsaba (incl.) and ETCS installation between Budapest Lőkösháza, country border 2. Body responsible for the implementation 2.1. Name: National Infrastructure Development Co Ltd. 2.2. Address:.H-1134 Budapest, Váci út 45. 3. Project description 3.1. General description of the physical object of the project The project includes: (1) the upgrade of line No 120 between Gyoma station and Békéscsaba station, 36.88 km in length (2) the modernisation of the Békéscsaba station, the most important railway junction between Szolnok and the state border, (3) the modernisation of the traction power supply substation in Cegléd, located on Line No 100, (4) the ERTMS/ETCS implementation for the whole corridor from Budapest Ferencváros to the state border with Romania. The project will contribute to the specific goals for TEN-T network: implement the interoperability requirements, for infrastructure and signalling, by enabling trains to run at their full loading capacity, without waiting times at the border and changing locomotives and staff, in particular, for freight services; decrease the travel time and service offer for passenger services by increasing the allowed speed and frequency, improve the accessibility to the train services, safety and comfort by the modernisation of stations, stops and their access areas. 3.2. Technical description of the infrastructure investment (a) Description of the infrastructure Phase 1 Track construction between Gyoma - Békéscsaba The railway infrastructure will be completely rebuilt on line N 120 between Gyoma station (excluded) and Békéscsaba station in this phase. In addition, a new public road and pedestrian underpass will be built within this project, at km post 48.1. It should be noted that Gyoma station is already modernised. In this phase high speed turnouts will be established between the main tracks allowing 120 km/h in case of deviating. Superstructure on the main line and the 1

through tracks on the station will consist of UIC 60 rails, other tracks will be constructed from MA 54 type rails. Turnouts will be equipped with heating. Platforms according to TSI PRM will be established on the stations at a height of 550 mm above the rail head. Access to the platforms will be provided by pedestrian underpasses, on the stations Csárdaszállás, Mezőberény and Murony with ramps. In total, 230 P+R and 184 B+R places will be provided. The parameters of the stations on the project section: Csárdaszállás 3 main tracks and one siding, two dead-end siding and two side platforms. Mezőberény 3 main tracks and one dead-end siding, two side platforms. Murony 4 main tracks and one dead-end siding, branch line connection to Békés and private siding connection, two island platforms. New road underpasses will be constructed in Gyoma and in Békéscsaba, all other existing level crossings will be modernised. Modernisation of Békéscsaba Railway Station 6 main tracks will be reconstructed, with two island and one side platforms, two branch line connections towards Hódmezővásárhely and Gyula, various private siding connections. The railway station will be modernized as part of the investment, in this phase the new station-house will be reconstructed, part of which will be the in-house construction of the underpass designed to connect the railway platforms and the square in front of the station, design of the stairway and platform covers as well as the accommodation of the new railway interlocking and telecommunications systems. Landscape management around the station buildings is also part of this phase. Modernisation of the traction power supply substation in Cegléd The traction power supply substation in Cegléd will be modernised and the maximum performance will be increased from 24 MVA to 32 MVA. Signalling and telecommunications interventions along Gyoma (excl.) - Békéscsaba (incl.) railway line section and ETCS installation on Gyoma (excl.) - Lőkösháza (border) line section (V120.09) Signalling Commissioning of electronic signalling of Békéscsaba Railway Station.
