September 2010 R&D - History December 2009 Hareon Set up R&D center, and put the headquarter at Altusvia (Taicang) energy Co., Ltd. May 2010 July 2010 Jiangsu mono silicon big size sticking and casting engineering research center is approved by Jiangsu science and technology department. Hareon R&D Co., Ltd incorporated in Taicang, capital 30 million RMB. Hareon R&D uses inkjet printing electrode preparation technology with high efficiency and low cost solar cell project, won 1 million RMB subsidize from international collaboration project by Jiangsu science and technology department. October 2010 Hareon R&D become province level efficiency solar cell project center approved by Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission. October 2011 The project of whole back electrode solar cell with 21% conversion efficiency by Hareon R&D, won 8 million special fund by Jiangsu science and technology department. November-December 2011 Four PhDs won award by Jiangsu science and technology, one of them is regards as Jiangsu high level innovative talents, the others is awarded subsidizes by Jiangsu PhD assemble program. November 2011 Hareon R&D is regard as National United Engineering Research Center with high efficiency solar cell by NDRC.
R&D Facility Hareon invested 2 billion RMB to built 5000 R&D centers, of which 1000 to reach the international advanced level of lab,1000workshop, 2000 R&D test line, as well as 1000 administrative office area, owned various types of testing equipments 67 sets, more than 1.5 billion RMB. Physical Lab Physical laboratory is a facility that provides properties characterization during the whole solar cell fabrication process, these performanc e parameters include minority carrier lifetime, sheet resistance, contact resistance, microdefect, quantum efficiency, cell efficiency and so on, giving a reliable basis for research and development of solar cell. Chemistry Lab R&D centre has introduced Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS) and other expensive analytical equipment, which can measure specified elemental composition and concentration of element of silicon matherial, solution and environment. The accuracy of some measurements can reach 1 ppb, therefore, effective control can be done during the whole fabrication process. Reliability Lab Module reliability laboratory on the basis of IEC61215 standard, is established to provide the electrical properties, hot properties and mechanical properties test of solar cells and module. These performance parameters include visual inspection, validation of maximum power, insulation experiment, temperature coefficiencnt measurement, the nominal operating cell temperature measurement, properties under standard test condition and nominal operating cell temperature, properties at low irradiance, outdoor exposure experiment, hot spot endurance trial, ultraviolet degradation testing, thermal cycling test, humidity and low temperature experiment, humidity and high temperature experiment, wet leakage current experiment, mechanical loading experiment, hailstone impact experiment, hot properties of by-pass diodes and so on. The parameters measurement shows whether the product can be used for a long time and safely in the specified circumstances.

Double printing is proven for increasing finger aspect ratio, reducing silver paste usage and demonstrating 0.3% above efficiency improvement. Selective emitter technology established with gains up to 0.5% efficiency improvement has been demonstrated in the mass production of mono silicon solar cell. Low reflex trap technology One of the limiting factor for multi cells has been the difficulties in texturing their surface to reduce surface reflection. In order to minimize this difficulty, a new technology, light-trapping nano-structures, has been developed to decrease the reflectivity from 20% above to 10% below. A absolute efficiency gain of 0.5% is achieved by this enhancing light absorption technology.
