Lineartronic is also longitudinally paired with an active torque split AWD system that responds to traction conditions by continuously controlling the torque distribution front to rear. Subaru Active Safety helps you circumvent trouble with predictable handling, precise control and excellent visibility plus advanced technologies that help you avoid incidents before they happen. Passive Safety features include systematically placed airbags, whiplash-reducing front seats, retracting pedals and 3-point seatbelts all there to help protect you if the unthinkable occurs. Understeer Ideal cornering Oversteer Vehicle Dynamics Control System Brakes Visibility Via an array of sensors, the Vehicle Dynamics Control System monitors and analyses if the vehicle is following the driver s intended course. If a tyre slips or a high speed turn causes the vehicle off its intended path, the AWD torque distribution, engine output and brakes at each wheel are adjusted to assist in keeping the vehicle on course. The Antilock Braking System includes electronic brake-force distribution to reapportion front and rear braking pressure when the vehicle is loaded. For more predictable and controlled braking during an emergency, the SUBARU XV features both Brake Assist and Brake Override. To avoid danger, you have to see it coming and the SUBARU XV is designed for the driver to have maximum awareness of the surroundings. The high vantage point of the SUBARU XV and dynamic cabin-forward design with its triangular window partition minimise blind spots with improved visibility. Seats, Seatbelts and SRS* Airbags Ring-shaped Reinforcement Frame Cabin-protecting Layout The SUBARU XV features whiplash-reducing front seats and energy-absorbing head restraints that can help better protect front occupants from injury during a rear collision. Even the rear seats have been optimised for protection, with the seating position set back to reduce the effects of a side impact. Front, front-side, and curtain SRS* airbags are standard on most models. The ring-shaped reinforcement frame strengthens the passenger cabin from the roof to the doors, pillars and floor.
