Sarape The Sarape is a long shawl often worn by Mexican men. The design, which is a fusion of indigenous and Spanish elements, often consists of a dark base colour with bands of bright colours. The use of colour and design creates a three dimensional effect which is truly unique. Referring to the colourful bands of the shawl, the Sarape carpet design is created by mixing classic Spanish patterns in various colours.
