Does not strike the marker(s) while driving forward. 7

SKILL SHEET # 3 Alley Dock Performance Evaluation: The evaluator shall verify the candidate has the ability to park the fire apparatus within a restricted area without having to stop and pull forward and without striking obstructions. JPR: 4.3.2 Instructor s Statement Tasks: Park the fire apparatus within a restricted area, without readjusting or striking obstructions. The candidate, given a fire apparatus, a spotter, and restricted space, shall back the apparatus from the roadway into the restricted space so that the vehicle is parked within the area without having to stop and pull forward and without striking obstructions. Equipment Required: Fire apparatus, restricted space, traffic cones, back up spotter 1. Check and adjust driver s seat and vehicle mirrors as needed. C 2. Fasten driver and enger restraints before putting vehicle into motion. LEFT ALLEY DOCK 3. Passes barricades with the dock on the left. 4. Backs the apparatus using a left turn into restricted space. C 5. Stops apparatus without striking the dock. C 6. Does not strike any course markers. 7. Utilizes mirrors for backing. C 8. Utilizes spotter for backing. 9. Appropriately judges vehicle distance. RIGHT ALLEY DOCK 10. Passes the barricades with the dock on the right. 11. Backs the apparatus with a right turn into restricted space. C 12. Stops the apparatus without striking the dock. C 13. Does not strike any course markers. 14. Utilizes mirrors for backing. C 15. Utilizes spotter for backing. 16. Appropriately judges vehicle distance. 11

EVD SKILL SHEET # 4 Diminishing Clearance Performance Evaluation: The evaluator shall verify the candidate has the ability to move through areas of restricted horizontal and vertical clearances so that he or she accurately judges the ability of the vehicle to through the openings and so that no obstructions are struck. JPR: 4.3.5 Instructor s Statement Tasks: Move a fire apparatus through areas of restricted horizontal and vertical clearances. The candidate, given a fire apparatus and a course of restricted horizontal and vertical clearances, shall maneuver a fire apparatus so that the performance steps below are completed. Equipment Required: fire apparatus, course with horizontal and vertical restricted clearance (props with a crossbar that can be placed at various heights can be used for vertical clearance skill training) 1. Checks and adjusts driver s seat and vehicle mirrors as needed. C 2. Fastens driver and enger safety restraints before putting vehicle into motion. HORIZONTAL CLEARANCE 3.
