.05 Weight-saving Aluminum 13 Aluminum There s a reason we think losing weight is the smart move. Aluminum makes for a structurally sound vehicle with minimal gains in weight. And in no place is this more evident than in the all-aluminum tailgate. It weighs markedly less than a typical steel tailgate while helping provide exceptional structural integrity. Considering the racing DNA in every Audi, it should come as no surprise that we went to great lengths to reduce weight when designing the Q5. But there is an even greater benefit to a reduction in weight beyond just improved handling.
