(Refer Hayman Reese TB_0007 (Nov 05) for further details if required. Explanatory notes The introduced changes to the Ford/Mazda series II wiring require the fitting of a vehicle specific ECU to avoid any potential issues with vehicle fault codes or wiring. For instances where any of the above part numbers have been fitted to any Series II Ranger or BT50 vehicle variant, Hayman Reese recommend the immediate fitment of HR part # 0496WP using the below fitting instruction. 0496WP includes the correct ECU and power harness, reuse of the vehicle wiring tail will be required. PART No: 0496WP. At the rear of the vehicle, locate the 007-WL harness blue connector ().. Locate the label () near the blue connector and cut the blue connector () off at the label ().. Locate the 0496WP harness wires with the brass ferrules () and cut the brass ferrules off the harness wires (). 4. Solder the cut off blue connector wires () onto the cut 0496P wires () by matching the harness colours together. 5. Locate the 007-WL harness () where the blue connector was cut off and solder the WHITE wire () to the 0496WP harness WHITE wire () with the ring terminal. Note: Leave enough length on the ring terminal WHITE wire () to allow for grounding later on. Locate the 007-WL harness () where the blue connector was cut off and solder the harness wires () to the 0496WP bare wires () following the table below: Function REVERSE L.IND R.IND TAIL BRAKE 0496WP BLACK / WHITE YELLOW / BLACK GREEN / BLACK BROWN / BLACK RED / BLACK 007-WL BLACK YELLOW GREEN BROWN RED 7. In the engine bay, route the supplied power harness () down towards the RHS of the vehicle under carriage. Do not connect the power harness ring terminal to the battery until the end of fitment. Note: Both 007-WL and 0496WP must be connected to the vehicle battery. 8. From underneath the vehicle, route the power harness () along the LHS of the chassis rail towards the rear of the vehicle. Ensure that the power harness is secured with cable ties (not supplied). Note: When routing any harnesses underneath the vehicle, ensure to avoid all moving parts, sources of heat and sharp objects. PART No: 0496WP 9. Connect the power harness -way male connector () to the power harness -way female connector (). 0. Connect the trailer patch ECU connector () to the ECU (P/No: WLT00) ().. Using a cleaning wipe (not supplied) clean the area on the vehicle rear interior sheet metal (). Remove the ECU backing tape and secure the ECU () onto the vehicle. Ensure the ECU is mounted pointing downwards. 4. Secure the trailer patch ground ring terminal (4) to a suitable location on the vehicle chassis rail using a tek screw (not supplied).. Secure the engine bay power harness ring terminal (from both 007-WL and 0496WP kits) () onto the battery positive terminal (). 4. Test the trailer wiring harness function using a light board or multi-meter. 5. Secure all harnesses using cable ties (not supplied). 6. Re-fit all removed parts and secure all fasteners, ensuring there are no squeaks or rattles. 7. Place the fitting instructions in the glove box after fitment.
