IT S WHAT S INSIDE THAT COUNTS WORLD-CLASS ADHESIVES BEGIN WITH HIGH-PERFORMANCE EMULSIONS

INFUSED WITH INNOVATION AND EXPERTISE For decades, Celanese emulsions have been vital components of high-quality industrial adhesives throughout the world. Our goal is to help our customers develop innovative, cost-cutting products by providing performance-based solutions, which include our world-class dispersion products. Our expert personnel are ready to help you meet your adhesive product and marketing goals. Celanese provides the adhesives market with high-performance emulsions. We offer a broad line of products under our vinyl acetate chain, including various grades of vinyl acetate ethylene (VAE). Our products are manufactured to adhere to specifications in Europe, North America and Asia in order to meet local supply needs. UNDERSTANDING CUSTOMER AND INDUSTRY NEEDS Our technical teams strive to meet the unique needs our customers have when formulating adhesives. Our team s expertise is backed by decades of experience in this industry. In order to remain innovative we are constantly updating our laboratories in Frankfurt and Shanghai with modern equipment, e.g., industrial nozzles, rollers and hot presses, to satisfy industry needs. Our emulsions will run smoothly and efficiently in formulation machinery with optimized coat weight, reduced stoppage for cleanings and higher line speeds. We are focused on helping our customers meet their goals whether we are working in our own labs, or working with our customers in their facilities. We work with our customer s needs in mind. Our research and development center in Frankfurt, Germany has world-class facilities that enable us to rapidly develop new products and customize existing products. Our technology center in Shanghai serves the whole Asian region as well. We are a local partner who provides local support to the Asian market. 2

CELANESE COMMITMENT TO ASIA HIGH INVESTMENT IN THE REGION Celanese has been committed to serving Asia for decades. Growth in the Asian region and China in particular has been a key part of our strategy. The Celanese Nanjing (China) Chemical Complex is our second largest integrated complex in the world. The site is a world-class manufacturing facility with numerous operating units for three of our businesses that share infrastructure and resources. Celanese is committed to social responsibility with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship and sustainable development. We are working to expand a positive site-level and collective impact worldwide through an increased emphasis on direct investment and local employee engagement. Celanese promotes many volunteer opportunities across the globe during our Global Impact Week, aligning with the company s value of Improving the World. WORLD-CLASS EMULSIONS FACILITY The Nanjing site is backwards integrated to acetic acid and vinyl acetate monomer (VAM), a key raw material for emulsion vinyl-based polymers. This integration allows for a reliable supply. Our emulsions plant includes highpressure reactors to synthesize state-of-the-art vinyl acetate ethylene (VAE) emulsions. The facility also includes atmospheric reactors to manufacture high-performance homopolymers, copolymers and pure acrylic emulsions. All emulsion products meet our global quality standards. In June of 2011, Celanese Emulsions dedicated its VAE expansion in Nanjing, which doubled our VAE capacity. The third VAE facility to be opened in Singapore in 2016 allows us to better serve the Asian region s growing market. The Celanese Shanghai Commercial and Technology Center officially opened in January 2011, further expanding our presence in the area. This facility serves as the headquarters for Celanese Asia and includes our emulsions business, and the region s customer application development labs and research center. Hundreds of Celanese scientists, design engineers and technical experts work together under one roof in this new, state-of-the-art facility.
