EMMotion Erlenbach Engineering > Electric moulding machines > EHV-E > EHV-M-E > EHV-C-E > EHV-C-E-PP Premium moulding machines with electric servo drive
EMMotion One step ahead The EMMotion machine range sets new standards in moulding machines with its innovative drive concept. Unique in the world, and tried and tested over many years, the electric servo drive is extremely energy efficient and resource-friendly, thereby offering our clients a concept that is both competitive and ecologically responsible. Areas of application - EPS and EPP processing - Cost-effective manufacturing of small to large batch sizes - Particularly suitable for food packaging - Operating pressures EPS processing: max. 1.6 bar EPP processing: max. 5 bar Optimally dimensioned utility piping and precise control units guarantee the fastest cycle times, at the highest process and quality level. The moulding machines in the EMMotion range are distinguished by their versatile applicability at maximum efficiency, and their design and construction offer the best prerequisites for internal material flows. Developed as a high-end product, Erlenbach builds the EHV-E, EHV-M-E, EHV-C-E, and EHV-C-E-PP machine series with the innovative electric servo drive. The EMMotion range is streets ahead of the competition! Consistent use of innovative technologies and state-ofthe-art components creates the most costeffective products and guarantees you a competitive edge on the market. Advantages - Dynamic electric servo drive guarantees cleanliness and low costs - Maximum stability due to solid welded frames made of torsion-resistant steel profiles - Optimum corrosion resistance due to galvanising and high-quality coatings - Modern process technology due to the fully electronic regulation system - Highest availability of production units due to the EM quick mould change system - Energy-saving EM steam chamber system - Individual machine stroke versions - Teleservice enables fast situation analysis - Modern PLC control with operator-oriented interface and processor-oriented menu design - Holistic, integrated manufacturing system due to the use of a platform unit
Drive concept The EMMotion machine range is driven by an innovative electric servo drive with knee levers. With large machine strokes and for manual insertion and extraction operation, a hybrid drive can also be used for the mould movements. In this case, the movements are controlled with an electric servo drive and the machine lock is controlled via the hydraulic system. Features of the electric servo drive: - Increase in production capacity of up to 25% due to shorter cycle times - Dynamic movement processes (approximately three times faster than the hydraulic drive) - Maximum machine dynamics due to knee lever geometry - Optimum synchronisation and precise positioning of moulds - Up to 90% savings on electrical energy - For the filling position in particular, highest positioning and repetition accuracy of < 0.1 mm - Minimum noise emissions - High availability due to fewer maintenance intervals - Clean production environment - Optimum synchronisation with additional handling systems for mould ejection
Erlenbach Engineering > Electric moulding machines > EHV-E > EHV-M-E > EHV-C-E > EHV-C-E-PP Mould system The EM quick mould change system, which is unique worldwide, reduces machine downtimes for the EHV-C-E and EHV-C-E-PP machine series to a minimum, while also increasing the availability of the machines. The blocked mould halves are mounted on a clamp frame parallel to the moulding production, thus saving time. Fully prepared with injectors and ejectors, the mould to be changed can be replaced in just a few minutes. The moulds are installed at the rear of the machine. To further optimise the mould changing process, we recommend using a platform unit. 1. EHV-M-E: - Moulds from the EHV and EHV-C systems can be mounted and held - Mounting frame allows direct accommodation of competitor systems; no need for additional adapter systems - Moulds are accommodated using the aluminium changing frame 2. EHV-E and EHV-C-E: - The energy-saving insulated steam chamber system made of special aluminium profiles generates energy savings of approximately 30% as compared to competitor products - EHV-C-E: No stroke loss due to the use of a male extension chest 3. EHV-C-E-PP: - To withstand higher steam pressures, the steel steam chambers are welded and finished to resist corrosion and guarantee a long service life - No stroke loss due to the use of a male extension chest Control concept The machine is controlled via an electronic networkable, high-performance PLC. A process-oriented menu design and the use of high-quality control components ensure a high level of operating reliability and safety. In addition, the PLC has the following features: - Operator-oriented interface - Short response times - Mould data management and job selection - Connection to the teleservice - Regulation and control with repetitive accuracy - Reproduction of set values saves energy during the machining process - Data import/export via memory stick The open cut construction design and easy accessibility enable rapid mould changes, which is optimised by the use of a mechanical or electrical hoist on the crane way.
Erlenbach Engineering > Electric moulding machines > EHV-E > EHV-M-E > EHV-C-E > EHV-C-E-PP Filling system The moulding machines of the EMMotion machine range are equipped with an EM pressure filling system as a standard feature. The pressure regulation is controlled by a quick-reacting PID regulator. The material is supplied to the pressure filling container via a central suction blower. Depending on the machine type, the pressure filling containers are tested for an operating pressure of a maximum of 2 bar (for EPS processing) and 6 bar (for EPP processing). These are secured via the correspondingly preset safety valves. The standard equipment includes 16 injector connections with quick couplings to the bottom of the pressure filler and to the filling level indicator to ensure a safe and secure production process. The appropriate pressure filler sizes are determined by the moulding machines and the moulded part volumes. For special applications, for example, filling various volume weights in a single mould, additional pressure fillers may optionally be used. Machine accessories - Machine stroke extension for electrical servo drive (1000 mm) - Steam chamber extensions - Mechanical or electrical hoist for changing moulds - Second pressure filler - Individual or central vacuum system - Cooling water pressurization system - Platform unit - Handling systems Characteristics of the EM pressure filling system: - Fully electronic pressure regulation - Optimum regulation, even for low pressure applications - Quicker cycle times and material savings due to homogenously filled moulds - Optional use of acceleration jets
