Apart from the colour of the controller (previously white, now grey), there are many more differences between the two versions. The advanced system comes with a range of features that make installation even easier. Apart from the great energy efficiency during operation, fast installation and user-friendly operation that are standard features of all Uponor systems, the new individual room temperature control makes heating and cooling even more comfortable. The automatic balancing function does away with time-consuming manual hydraulic balancing. In most cases, there is no need for recalculation of the valve settings, which is normally required after a change of the room layout or the floor covering. The heat distribution in the room is evaluated by a bespoke software solution. The relevant values are stored and the system is automatically balanced at regular intervals. This guarantees optimum energy distribution! The comfort setting prevents that heating surfaces become too cool when the room is heated with an alternative source (e.g. open fireplace). The supply diagnosis monitors the heat performance in all rooms and signals any insufficient or excess supply to the I-76 interface. The H/C switching module switches the C55/C56 wireless controller from heating to cooling mode, as the manifold valves must be opened as the room temperature increases (reverse operation of thermal actuators). For cooling, the relative air humidity in the room must also be measured, in addition to the room temperature. This is done through the humidity sensor H-56. It is important to prevent that the temper- ature drops below the dew point, as this would lead to condensation on cold system components. The C-46 heating/cooling controller regulates the cooling water supply temperature through the control valve to keep it above the dew point temperature. This ensures that the system components from the control valve downwards are protected against damage from condensation that tends to occur when the actual temperature drops below the dew point.
