The self-sufficient and mobile energy storage system for your generator MobilHybrid

Saves up to 50% of your operation cost by optimizing part load operation The MobilHybrid is connected between diesel generator and your load. The MobilHybrid supplies your load with power and controls the diesel generator via its start / stop function when the internal batteries of the MobilHybrid need to be recharged. As long as the load is supplied from the batteries there will be no noise and emissions. At high load, the power of the MobilHybrid and the diesel generator are added by the Power Boost function so that the diesel generator can be smaller and more efficient. The MobilHybrid is available in 6 power levels to cover all your mobile power needs. The MobilHybrid is an innovative storage system it is connected between power generators and electricity consumers. The MobilHybrid stores the electric energy from the generator and provides the consumer, just as currently required without any waste of fuel.

MobilHybrid The MobilHybrid has been developed for applications with significant part load shares. It ensures with its innovative technology that the generator can be switched off when the load of electricity consumers is small, so less than the rated power of the mobile hybrid in use. If the energy level in the batteries is low or the load demand is higher than the power of the MobilHybrid, the MobilHybrid switches on your generator automatically. If the load demand is greater than the generator power, the MobilHybrid switches on the diesel generator. The two power sources MobilHybrid and the diesel generator are added together by the Power-Boost-Function. Throughout the world, diesel or gasoline generators are used when electricity is needed and no grid connection is available. Outside of cities, at construction sites, at outdoor events in the open or in the exploration of oil and gas. In all of these applications, very heterogeneously electric power is required. The load varies from 100% to a few percent during the night or periods of rest. Unfortunately, diesel generators have a very poor efficiency at load levels below 50% of nominal power. Less than 30% capacity, the service life of the generator is even significantly reduced because soot particles are settled in the oil and the cylinders which can destroy the engine. To avoid this, dump load resistors are often connected to the generator to provide minimum 30% load but wasting tremendous amounts of fuel.

What is the MobilHybrid? The MobilHybrid is a mobile and intelligently controlled electricity storage. It enables an economical and environmentally friendly and continuous supply of your electricity demand. Almost better than a grid. How does it work? The MobilHybrid selects the most favorable energy sources out of multiple (hybrid) supplies for the current load situation. This may be the built-in battery storage, a diesel generator, photovoltaic modules or a possibly existing grid. Why can you save money? In many applications the amount of required electrical energy is quite low. Diesel generators have the problem at low load operation the specific fuel consumption is very high, especially with few or weak consumers. Although very

MobilHybrid little power is needed, the engine must run at a constant speed. Large amounts of diesel are burned useless. In this operating mode the MobilHybrid provides the energy out of the batteries and starts the diesel engine only when the battery needs to be recharged or heavy load sitiuations occure. So fuel and maintenance costs for the diesel engine are significantly avoided and its service life is prolonged. You do not need to refuel so often. In cases of manageable power consumption the MobilHybrid can be easily home loaded with cheap AC power. On site, MobilPV provides very favourable electric power. In such cases, you even do not need to deliver fuel to your site any more. What is the benefit for the environment? Significant amounts of CO 2 and harmful emissions can be saved. The service life and maintenance intervals of the diesel engine will be extended. Silent operation of the power supply, since the diesel generator is switched off most of the time or is even no longer needed in some applications. More CO 2 and money can be saved by adding photovoltaic modules to the hybrid system. The lead-acid batteries used are 99% recyclable.

MobilHybrid What makes the Hybrid mobile? MobilHybrid is built on a very robust steel support frame in the size of a Euro pallets. Easy handling is possible with forklift or by lifting gear to the eyelet in the top, the device can even be pulled above ground as a slide. The logistics is very easy through the standard Euro-pallets dimensions. The very compact and robust housing with IP54 protection rate is suitable for outdoor installation. The MobilHybrid with option IT grid can be used without any restriction according to the rules of working association without grounding measures and without being a qualified electrician in. The integrated leadacid batteries are ready for the road and air transport. For special power and weight requirements we are offering as well Lithium-Ions batteries. How long do the batteries last? Can I give used batteries back? The batteries are designed for a lifetime of 1400 to 1800 cycles (depending on the size of the MobilHybrid). With one cycle per day the lifetime of the batteries is approximately 5 years. As the end of life a remaining capacity of 80% is defined. The battery pack can be inexpensively replaced in a short time. Of course, we will take back the old used battery packs and we will recycle them.

MobilHybrid Option: Night switch This option gives you the possibility to start the Generator only during the daytime from 7:00 to 20:00. During the night the generator stays switched off and you can sleep peacefully without any noise of the generator. The MobilHybrid takes care for fully loaded batteries short before the quiet night starts. Even difficult neighbours in cities or on the country side will not be disturbed. If the demand of energy during the night is higher than the amount of energy stored in the batteries, the generator stays switched off till the night is over. In this situation the system is switched off when the batteries are getting empty during the night. The same happens if the batteries are only have full with stored electric energy. Option: Load drop With this option some unimportant loads like heating or air conditioner can be shut off if some other more important loads have a higher demand of energy. In this case the unimportant consumer are connected in the Schuko plugs. Do we have grid voltage or generator voltage these plugs are supplied regularly with electric energy. If the energy demand of important consumer is above a safe value during operation in battery mode of the MobilHybrid then the Schuko plugs with the unimportant consumer are disconnected. The same happens if the batteries are only have full with stored electric energy. This option avoids overload situation and enables a smooth and efficient providing of energy out of the batteries.

The ideal complement to the MobilHybrid Option: Solar charger The ideal complementation for every MobilHybrid is a photovoltaic plant. Every installed kwp solar power supplies an energy amount of in average of 3 kwh per day. Two solar chargers can be added to each MobilHybrid as an option. Up to two units MobilPV can be easily connected to only one solar charger in the MobilHybrid to take care for full batteries and reduced runtime of the diesel generator. Each solar charger has a nominal power of 5 kw at a maximum voltage of 150V. Four strings can be connected with 20 A per each string. Due to the modular structure of the MobilHybrid it is possible to add more battery storage to the unit. You can add storage blocks of 6 kwh up to a total capacity of 36 kwh to the MobilHybrid. According to the size of the batteries the unit size will change accordingly.

MobilHybrid Option: Grid connection With this option two independent energy sources for the MobilHybrid can be connected. The grid ( or a hydro power plant) and a diesel generator are examples what is possible. In cases of grid faults the MobilHybrid acts as an UPS and overtakes the power supply automatically without interruption to the load. If you want to connect more output consumers or input sources you can choose different plug sizes from 32A up to 125A as a second input or output plug. Option: IT-grid An IT-grid is an electrical grid form for higher safety requirement (the neutral of the gird is not connected to ground). For the MobilHybrid this is no problem. With his own isolation monitoring the MobilHybrid detects an isolation fault and switches the main output power supply off. This system is recommended for wet environment, electrically unskilled staff or bad grounding situations. If the MobilHybrid is heavily loaded far beyond the nominal power, the MobilHybrid switches off with an overload fault and attempts to restart after 30 seconds. This is done three times after the MobilHybrid shuts down and will be repowered by a manual switch off and on operation. The Auto-Reset option will permanently attempt to start until the overload is over or the generator starts up, so no manual operation is required.

Put the sun in your tank A lot of industry applications do not allow disruptions of power supply. In countries with unreliable power grids this is a severe problem for the growing of the industry. The solution for these applications is the MobilHybrid system. Containing a UPS-functionality, MobilHybrid replaces the inactive public power grid without disruption of power at the outputs. On order to cover longer power disruptions we recommend to add MobilPV to the system, in extreme situations a diesel genset should be added. Power distribution and re-establishment of the power supply are detected automatically and processed internally. The powerboost function adds up the power of the diesel genset and the MobilHybrid. Consequently, a smaller diesel genset can be used for covering peak loads and for that, the costs come down by 30%.
