1. Check Battery Use a flat head screwdriver to unloack and remove the seat. Make sure that the plastic knob is turned to the unlock position. 3
2. Check Wire Connections Ensure that the battery is properly connected to the vehicle (red wire). Also ensure that the gear box wire (white wire) is properly connected to the vehicle. Check Gearbox Connection 4
If the above steps did not solve any problems with the vehicle, then ensure that the battery is unplugged before continuing with any of the following steps. Remove the red connectors to unplug the battery. 5
2. Steering Wheel Troubleshooting: Check Wiring Connection Step 1: Unscrew and remove the nut and bolt on the right side of the steering wheel. Step 2: Remove the steering wheel from the steering column by pulling gently on the wheel. 6
Step 3: Check that the wires are properly connected from the steering wheel to the vehicle. This connection is for the sound effects on the steering wheel. Unplug the connector and continue the following steps if you need to check the wiring inside the dashboard. Otherwise, reverse the above procedures to reassemble the steering wheel. 7
3. Check Dashboard Connections: Access the circuit board inside the dashboard assembly to check other wiring connections. Step 1: Use a flat head screwdriver to release the locking mechanism on the windshield Step 2: Locate the three latches on the windshield to remove completely. 8
Step 3: Remove the windshield and dashboard by slowly and gently pulling up and out from the vehicle in the direction of the arrow below. Use both hands when removing the dashboard. Step 4: Check that the two main connectors for all electronic functions are properly connected. If the problem is fixed, then reverse the above steps to reassemble the vehicle. Otherwise, unplug the connector and continue to follow the steps below to check the wiring inside of the dashboard. 9
4. Checking wire connections in dashboard Step 1: Unscrew these two screws to remove the windshield from the dashboard Step 2: Remove all 8 screws from the dashboard to access the inner components. Keep the windshield scerws separate from the dashboard screws. 8 1 2 7 3 4 5 6 10
Step 3: Check that the power switch and the forward/reverse switch are properly connected. Power Switch Forward/reverse Switch Step 4: Check that the red and orange wires for the power switch are connected to the two bottom blades. The top blade won t have a connection. Red Wire Orange Wire 11
Step 5: Check that all three wire connectors for the forward/reverse switch are properly connected. The blue, pink, and yellow single wires should all be connected. Reverse the above procedures to reassemble the vehicle. If there are still connection issues related to the dashboard steps, then please contact Aria Child Customer Service. 12
5. Foot Pedal Troubleshooting Step 1: Turn the vehicle on its back to access the foot pedal cover. Use a screwdriver to pry the cover off of the vehicle. Step 2: Turn over the vehicle and pull out the Foot Pedal to access the wires. Make sure that both wires are properly connected. 13
Step 3: After checking the foot pedal, snap it back into place by first sliding in the pedal into the chassis on the right side. Then snap it back into place using a screwdriver. 14
6. Gearbox Troubleshooting and Repalcement Step 1: Press the BMW logo on the wheel cap to release the right rear wheel. The gearbox can only be accessed from the right rear wheel. Step 2: Press and lift up the wheel with both hands. 15
Step 3: Unplug the gearbox connector (white wires) underneath the seat. The battery ride wires should already be disconnected to avoid any electrial issues. Step 4: Remove the right front wheel using the same procedure as the right rear wheel. 16
Step 5: Unplug the headlight connector located underneath the dashboard. Step 6: Clip the cable ties along the wires to release the gearbox harness easily. Be careful not to clip any of the wires. 17
Step 7: Unscrew the wire clips. There are three wire clips located at the bottom side of the vehicle. Step 8: Separate the white and blue wires from the rest of the harness. These wires belong to the gearbox. 18
Step 9: Slide the gearbox off of the rear axle. Gently pull the white and blue wires that attach to the gearbox through the vehicle. Step 10: Reverse the above procedures to replace a gearbox with a a new one. To replace your gearbox, visit www.ariachild.com or call our customer service team. 19
