DIAMOND DOOR PRODUCTS OVERALL SPECIFICATIONS Door Door skins are manufactured of 20 gauge galvanized steel (A60) with a mechanical edge seam. With 16 gauge steel channels forming the top and bottom end closures, the face panels shall be securely welded around their entire perimeters. Doors have an insulated polystyrene core. Door skins are smooth or textured and have a straight or beveled lock edge. Hinge reinforcements are 7 gauge steel mortised for a 4 ½ x 4 ½ standard weight hinge. 161 lock ring and 86 lock reinforcements are 14 gauge, as is the standard closer reinforcement (optional). Doors are reversible and have a finish coat baked on white or antique bronze paint. 18 gauge and smooth skin doors are available. Frames Preassembled and Knock Down Frames are manufactured of 16 gauge galvanized steel (A60). Preassembled frames have a standard double rabbited 5 ¾ kerf profile, with ½ returns. Frame faces are 2". The head has an extended front face (6") designed to butt against the girt flange (2" and 4" faces for other applications). Knock down frames are various sizes to match the girt depth. Jambs may be open back or have a ½ return, while the heads have no returns (so as not to interfere with the down leg of the girt). 7 gauge steel hinge reinforcements are projection welded in 4 places, and are designed for 4 ½ x 4 ½ full mortise standard weight hinges. Strike jambs comes prepared with an ASA strike. Jambs are fully reversible and have a finish coat baked on white or bronze paint. Subframe System (Preassembled Doors and wind rated applications) Subframes are constructed of 16 gauge galvanized material (A40 min). They are 84 5/8" or 86" in height, while the width is variable based on matching the building manufacturers girt depth. Subframes have 1 ¾ flanges at both ends. Subframes are flush mounted so additional jamb trim is required (supplied by building manufacturer). The subjambs replace the need for a framed opening. When using a 2" x 2" head, an additional subframe header is added (4" x 2") to close off the interior cavity so there is a full framed opening on the inside for liner panel or other wall framing types. Other head profiles are available such as 6" x 2", and 4" x 4" (masonry). Attachment L-Clips Attachment L-clips (L angles) are used both at the header/girt connection and base. Clips are 12/14 gauge galvanized steel and come pre-punched with hole locations. Clips for preassembled doors are 5 ¾ wide x 8" tall and are attached through the subframes and into returns of the frame with self drilling screws. Top clip is attached to the girt (adjustable) with self drilling screws and the bottom clip (5 ¾ x 4") is fastened to the floor with sleeve anchors. Clips included in the knock down frame package base clip is welded in place, while the top adjustable clip is a c-channel piece 12" long with a L bracket welded at the top. Hardware Locking hardware are Southern, Parker or PDQ brands. Standard lock is typically a keyed entry lever function (US32D or US26D)). Hinges are 4 ½ x 4 ½ full mortise ball bearing hinges with non-removable pins and a silver powder coat finish. Preassembled threshold is a full 5 ¾ wide aluminum piece matching the frame depth while the knock down threshold is 3 ½. Kerf weatherseal and a Sweep/drip is included in both types of doors standard. Other hardware options are available. Packaging Knock down doors are polybagged and fully wrapped in corrugated material. Frames and hardware come supplied in a corrugated frame box. Preassembled doors are crated in wood surround. All packages are clearly marked with the PO# or job number (or other) as requested by the customer. Page 2
