A Brief History... The rivalry between American and Italian Super Cars is no new affair. After Enzo Ferrari himself pulled out of a deal that would have sold Ferrari to Ford Motor Company in the early 1960s, Henry Ford vowed to build a car that would beat Ferrari on the world endurance racing circuit. Ford chose Lola Motorcars International Ltd, a race car engineering company founded in 1958 by Eric Broadley to develop the car. The existing Lola Mk6 chassis powered by a Ford V8 made an impressive showing in the 1963 Le Mans and was considered the most advanced car of its time. After several years of intense development from teams at Ford Advanced Vehicles in the UK which included Carroll Shelby, Ford pulled out all the stops for the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.
In 1966 the Ford MKII GT 40 made history by taking first, second, and third over Ferrari in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The American designed MKII s were fitted with the 427 cubic inch FE Motor and the Ford built T44 transaxle. The GT 40 went on to win Le Mans 4 times in a row from 1966-1969 and secured the only all American (American developed car, American engine, and American driver) win at Le Mans. The 2005-2006 Ford GT is a tribute to this historic American race car. With a production run of only 4,038, the Ford GT is one of the most potent street cars ever developed.

Johnny Böhmer OWNER / DRIVER Johnny Böhmer was born in Dallas, TX and at a young age moved to Lexington, KY. He gained an affinity for anything mechanical and quickly earned the label as a prodigy for his innate ability to repair or improve anything complex in design. Johnny Böhmer was fascinated with racing of all types and started racing motorcycles at a young age and quickly became well-known for his fierce competitiveness on the track. Mr. Bohmer relocated to West Palm Beach, FL in his mid-20s with his wife, Tammy. He concentrated his efforts on acquiring, refurbishing and reselling old, exotic cars and motorcycles. Before long, Mr. Bohmer became the local authority on these collectible items and he had an uncanny ability to locate the impossible rare find. Eventually Mr. Bohmer became focused on one mission; to build and drive the World s Fastest Street Car. After the acquisition of the BADD GT, investing several years in team development, as well as a few million dollars of research and development, Mr. Bohmer and his team succeeded on March 14, 2010 and became the first man to break the previously unattainable 250 mph barrier in the Standing Mile. Since that day, Johnny Böhmer has set the official Guinness World Record by driving the BADD GT to a blistering speed of 283.232 mph in the Standing Mile.
