Cutting power is a combination of three things- engine size, engine configuration, and mower configuration. Engine size is measured in cc s or cubic centimeters. The more cc s, the more cutting power it provides. Like in automobiles, mower engines with overhead valves offer substantially more power than those without OHV. OHV engines run more smoothly, efficiently, quietly and are better for the environment. Mower configuration factors deck size and features.
