Copper pan-flashed installation Thermo-lite: Copper pan-flashed skylight features The hatch (glazing and frame) Our welded aluminum outer frame (A) is powder coated and baked on for lasting beauty and protection. The welded PVC inner frame (B) with santoprene gasket (C) provides an efficient thermal break to insure a weathertight seal. Our standard glazing is tempered low-e Argon filled. Laminated low-e Argon filled is also available. Several hatch colors are available on request. Hatch replacement is available for retrofit of existing thermo-vu skylights or some competitive brands. The curb The standard thermo-lite curb (D) is 3 4 thick birch plywood that comes pre-finished in white. The curb can also be painted on-site to match any interior color scheme or left as is to eliminate any curb finishing work. Flashing system Prefabricated continuous copper flashing (E) is attached to the curb for quick installation. Roll formed from premium 24 gauge cold rolled copper. All seams are Pittsburgh locked and hand soldered for guaranteed watertightness. Flashing is used for shingle roofs from 15-60. Glass options Choice of tempered low-e glass or laminated low-e glass. Installation options The standard thermo-lite series of skylights has a drop-in curb (F) that extends 2 1 8 below pre-attached flashing. Self-flashed installation EPDM self-flashed skylight features Watertight EPDM flashing system This unique flashing system combines two proven roofing materials in a revolutionary design. Exposed surfaces are Kynar 500 coated aluminum providing long lasting protection against stormy weather and the sun s harmful UV rays. Watertight EPDM flashing system a unique formula of EPDM that has a proven track record of more than 30 years in some of the harshest waterproofing applications from flat, exposed roofs to the bottom of landscaping ponds. The flashing system s design forces water around and away from the skylight, ensuring long-term weathertightness. Integrated drainage channels guarantee quadruple protection. Testing has proven that even in hurricane type situations, water cannot be pushed past our four drainage channels that safely deliver any water back out on top of the shingles below. Factory installed EPDM that is incorporated inside the metal flashing rain diverter. Secondary gasket that provides dual protection.

Curb mounted skylights Designed to be used where a site-built curb is the preferred method of installation, curb mounted skylights consist of an insulating glass lens sealed into a protective metal frame designed to mount on top of a site-built curb.
