Remove the fender skirt, then remove the () /- lock nuts (Item #) located behind the front panel holding the left latch plate (Fig. ).. If your mower is NOT a Defender/Boss XL, loosely tie the wire harness to the harness bracket (Item #) with the provided wire ties (Fig. ). Position the harness bracket behind the front panel on the bolts the /- lock nuts were removed from. Twist the /- lock nuts back on the bolts finger tight to keep bracket from falling. WIth Items #, #, and #, attach the front of the Harness Bracket to the Power Lift Housing Assembly and tighten. Finally tighten the /- lock nuts behind the front panel. If the wire harness is free from any pinch points, snug the wire ties to the harness bracket and clip off the excess tails. For Defender/Boss XL mowers, the harness bracket (Item #) is NOT used. Instead you will route your wire harness underneath the front panel and tie to the outside of the brake lever mounting angle (Fig. ). Latch Plate KNOCKOUT Tie here Fig. Brake lever mounting angle TIE HERE FENDER SKIRT Fig. Fig.. Plug the position switch (Item #) into the rectangle shaped plug on the wire harness. With the clip of the rectangle shaped plug facing to the rear of the mower, insert the switch into the knockout hole until you hear a click. If your mower is NOT a Defender/Boss XL, flip the seat of the mower up to expose the side panel. Route the wire harness through any available hole in the side panel back to the battery. Attach the black wire to the negative battery post and the red to the positive battery post. Disconnect the "main" tractor harness from the engine plug. Plug one end of the power lift harness into the main harness, plug the other end of the power lift harness into the engine plug. (The power lift harness comes with () pigtails wire tied to the end of the harness. If the engine plug is "BLACK", cut off the pigtails and discard, then plug the end of the harness into the engine plug. If the engine plug is "WHITE", cut off the pigtails, plug them into the end of the wire harness, then plug into the engine plug.) Ensure the power lift harness is free of any pinch points that could cause damage. Use the provided wire ties to tie the harness into place. Verify direction of travel of the cylinder (Extend = up, Retract = down). Attach decal (Item #) next to the switch showing the direction of travel. Assemble Items #, #, and # (Fig.) This will serve as the switch protector. For Defender/Boss XL mowers, the seat will not flip up.
