Forbes Marshall Pneumatic Series MSP and SSP
Multi Spring (MSP Series) Forbes Marshall Pneumatic Diaphragm Protective cap housing Spring Diaphragm plate Diaphragm O ring spindle Yoke Stroke scanning lever Lift plate The Forbes Marshall pneumatic actuators can be opened or closed using spring force or control air. These actuators are field reversible and available with either single spring or multi spring options. The compressed spring ensures that the pneumatic actuator always achieves fail safe condition on air failure without any additional intervention. The actuator positions the control valve plug upon receipt of proportional signal through the positioner. These can be operated in to Open (ATO) function or with reverse action to Close (ATC) function. Multi-Spring (MSP) has additional advantage of compact design with low installation height, which is preferred by Industry. MSP Series - Features Yoke with Integral Duct Diaphragm Stroke Scanning Lever inlet Stroke scanning lever The yoke of the FM MSP Series actuator has a precision internal integrated path for passage of instrument air to the actuator diaphragm through the actuator housing. This advanced technology eliminates the need for any additional tubing for mounting the positioner on the yoke, thereby arresting extra impulse tube leakages, chances of damage during transit, it allows high operational reliability, precision and serviceability. The positioner shaft engages with the stroke scanning lever of the actuator (as shown in the diagram), thereby eliminating the need for external linkages. This design improves operational reliability, precision and serviceability. This design hence reduces maintenance costs for the user. Field Reversible at Site In In Fig. A ( to Open) Fig. B ( to Close) The MSP series pneumatic actuator allows easy reversal of the actuator at site with minimum manual intervention and without opening the actuator housing. Special plugs for aerating and bleeding ensure the highest possible protection against ingress of water and dust particles into the actuator housing.

SSP Series - Features Spring Adjustable At Site Aluminium Housing Housing Adjustment Bolt An adjustment bolt has been used to adapt the spring pre-load with actuating forces required with pinpoint accuracy. FM SSP Series of actuators come with different centric springs and spring ranges which allow a very broad range of actuating forces to be optimally set. The setting is possible at site as well. High accuracy is achieved by rotating the adjustment bolt after opening the actuator cap. The bolt can be rotated both clockwise and anti-clockwise depending on requirement. This is possible on-line as well. The actuator housings are made from high grade aluminium which protects it from atmospheric corrosion. This feature allows the SSP series actuator to be used for marine environments. Aluminium construction makes this actuator extremely lightweight as well. Field Reversible at Site In In Fig. A ( to Open) Fig. B ( to Close) The SSP series pneumatic actuator allows easy reversal at site with minimum manual intervention and without opening the actuator housing. Special plugs for aerating and bleeding ensure the highest possible protection against ingress of water and dust particles into the actuator housing.
