Product Performance and Applications Figure 1: Conductivity Regime CABELEC conductive compounds are manufactured to exacting specifications to ensure reliable performance. They offer numerous advantages over competitive conductive materials such as metals. CABELEC products are: Lightweight Recyclable Easy-to-handle & process Corrosion-resistant RESISTIVITY ( -CM) 10 1 10 12 10 10 10 8 10 6 10 10 2 1 Conductivity Regime Insulative Antistatic Dissipative Conductive Materials Neat Polymer Conductive Plastics for ESD The primary application for plastics is the dissipation of static charge to protect against electrical damage, and the application range spans the ESD conductivity regime shown in Figure 1. The end uses include: Electrical & Electronics Industrial Automotive 10-2 10 - Conductivity (S/cm) = 1/Resistivity (Ω-cm) Metals Processability CABELEC conductive compounds can be processed directly on conventional plastics processing equipment without the need for dilution. Cabot s Conductive Concentrates Cabot offers also conductive concentrates, which are a unique way of designing your conductive compound. Cabot s Conductive Concentrates are designed to meet the critical needs of compounders and processors that must deliver conductivity for electrostatic discharge and other critical conductive applications. These products enable processors and compounders to tailor conductivity and customize formulations at lower handling costs.
