3000-3S Used with: 3000-3S General Information! When you see this symbol, the subsequent instructions and warnings are serious - follow without exception. Your life and the lives of others depend on it! These instructions explain how to install the Point- Row Option. The point-row option allows you to raise and lower openers on each drill section independently. These instructions apply to: 195-191A 3000-3S Point Row Assembly 2004- Instructions apply for 3S-3000 drills built before December 2004, up to and including S/N S1699. These drills have a single inline hydraulic filter. Definitions Right-hand and left-hand as used in this manual are determined by facing the direction the drill will travel while in use. Assembly Instructions Manual Update Refer to the 3000-3S operator s manual for detailed information on safely operating, adjusting, troubleshooting and maintaining the Point-Row Option. Refer to the parts manual for part identification. 195-110M 3000-3S Operator s Manual 195-110P 3000-3S Parts Manual Before You Start Pages 14 and 15 are a detailed listing of parts included in the Point-Row Option package. 8 Mount Control Box Refer to Figure 11 1. Mount control box (1) in a convenient location in tractor cab. Plug harness extension (2) into control box. Connect control box to a 12-volt power source such as your tractor battery. NOTE: Connect red wire to positive terminal and black wire to negative terminal. 2. Route wiring harness (3) through drill tongue. 3. Plug two-pin connectors (4) from wiring harness into coils on block. Look for letters L, C and R on leads to identify left, center and right. 4. Plug wiring-harness lead into control-box lead (5). 5. Secure wiring harness so it will not be damaged during lifting, folding, transporting or field turns. 6. If your tractor does not require a bypass valve to operate the 3000-3S, discard solenoid (6) provided in point-row kit. NOTE: Contact your tractor dealer to verify if a bypass valve is needed to operate the 3000-3S with your tractor. On models S1399 and beyond, if you install a bypass valve on your tractor, install solenoid (6) into front port in bypass valve. Plug twopin connector on harness extension (7) into solenoid. On drills with bypass valve at tractor: Install solenoid (6) into front port in bypass valve. Plug two-pin connector on harness extension (7) into solenoid. On drills with bypass valve on drill: Install solenoid (6) into top port on bypass valve (8).Plug two-pin connector from monitor lead(s) marked with letter "S" into solenoid. Loosen nuts on flanges at the right bearing bracket. Install shaft through far-right bearing. 6. Assemble reworked clutch (12) onto 23 7/16" shaft. 7. Slide clutch adaptor (13) over the end of the 23 11/16" shaft. Secure shafts by re-installing roll pins and retightening bolts on bearing flange. 8. Align breakaway jaws for proper contact. Refer to "Align Transfer Drive Shaft," under Leveling the Drill, Drill Preparation and Setup in the 3000-3S operator s manual. 9. Re-install drive chains. 195-192M Rev. A 2/16/2005
13 Refer to Figure 17 10. Assemble clutch linkage. First, U-bolt the cam bracket (14) under the center bearing bracket using 3/8" U-bolts and lock nuts. Position cam bracket so the inside edge of the right ear is 3 5/32" from the edge of the center bearing bracket. 17098 Refer to Figure 18 Figure 17 11. Pin the shut-off cam (15) between the cambracket ears using clevis pin and cotter pin. 12. Attach the clutch link (16) to shut-off cam and clutch using 3/8" nylock jam nuts. 13. Use a 5/16" x 1 1/2" bolt and two nuts to secure link spring (17) to the clutch link. Hook other end of spring to center bearing bracket as shown. 14. U-bolt the shut-off bracket (18) to the opener frame directly below the cam bracket. Use 1/2" U-bolts, lock washers and nuts. Position the bracket between openers so the bracket will engage the cam when openers are lifted. 17100 Figure 18 2/16/2005 195-192M Rev. A
