Rotary Indexing Tables are used in rotary special purpose machines and other types of machines to mount fixtures, work pieces for precision indexing. The GMT Rotary Indexing Tables are fitted with "VOITH" Hirth radial spur teeth face gear, which ensures; Accurate indexing High repetitive indexing Self centering and Space saving INDEXING CYCLE The Indexing cycle is in four stages 1. The table lifts to clear teeth of the face gear, and engages the drive clutch gear coupling at the same time. Hydraulic rack and pinion drive, with Hydraulic Clamping on face gears is ideally suitable for heavy transported and cutting loads. It has an adjustable speed control and a hydraulic clamping to suit variable operating conditions. Hydraulic clamping ensures that the table will withstand high applied forces and torque. Clockwise and anti-clockwise direction of rotations are available, The tables are controlled externally. INDEXING The number of indexed positions depends upon the number of teeth in the face gears. The smallest increment possible is one tooth. FACE GEAR CLAMPING In the Indexing Cycle the table top is rotated to the required position and then clamped onto face gears. It is now rigidly clamped without any movement to the housing, with an indexing accuracy of ± 3 seconds of an arc. 2. The table top rotates to the indexed position via the rack and pinion drive with regulated speed and end stop control. 3. The table clamps down against face gears for precise centering and positioning, simultaneously disengaging the face clutch. 4. The rack returns to the start position.
INDEX SELECTION Indexing Tables are offered in one of the following versions 1. FIXED positions may be selected with this version within the limits of the number of teeth of the face gears. TABLE TOP GMT indexing tables are offered with round table tops. T-Slots can be provided as per illustrations. Square table tops can be offered on request. The required indexing is determined by a stop, the length of which limits the stroke of the rack. This version is mainly used where only single indexing is required as in special purpose machines. 2. UNIVERSAL DAMPING AND SPEED OF ROTATION CONTROL The deceleration of the rotating mass at the end of Indexing is achieved by a hydraulic damper. The damper is adjustable to suit various operating conditions and applications, The rotational speed is regulated by a built in throttle valve. The required indexing positioning is determined by a stop, the length of which limits the stroke of the rack. The selection of the required indexing is achieved by rotating the selector knob, which alters the rack stroke in each case, thereby ensuring the number of indexing positions to be achieved. This version is mainly used where various indexed positions are required. Various number of index per ELECTRICAL CONTROLS The indexing cycle is achieved by external electrical controls and external control valves, Proximity switches are provided within a switch box to signal table clamping, declamping, rack forward and rack return. The switch box is easily accessible with plug/socket for limit switch cable outputs. HYDRAULIC POWERPACK The Indexing Tables are operated by Hydraulic Powerpack for routine operation. Capacity of the power back specifications depends on the size of the table.
