SOLARBOT PROPOSAL FOR SERVICES For prospective clients OVERVIEW We are a team of Electrical and Electronics Engineers that specialize in renewable energy involving solar and inverter systems that can either serve as a stand-alone, grid fallback or grid failover source of electricity. We are involved in the procurement, distribution and installation of renewable energy equipment and system that are of high standard and quality with service delivery anywhere in Nigeria. With experience in the field and various successful projects, we are able to make accurate electrical calculations that would put in place an efficient renewable energy system capable of serving our clients to satisfaction for a long period of time. The Objective To design and install a reliable and cost efficient solar system and/ or pure inverter system To ensure that installed systems meet both local and international standards To ensure that systems designed and installed are safe and hazard free. To promote the use of renewable energy technology and propagate its distribution and use. OUR PROPOSAL We intend to deliver our services to clients who are in need of an alternative source of energy which is clean, environmental friendly and less stressful to maintain as compared to generators. The power situation in the country is not reliable enough to meet all the need of consumers. Our team of electrical engineers are capable of installing a system that would either compliment the national grid or serve as a complete power solution to our clients. Our company is involved in the installation of solar systems for residential buildings, offices, hospitals, commercial buildings, agricultural purposes, highways and other structures.. We install systems ranging from, solar street lights, solar pumps, inverter backup systems (grid tie), and other solar system (grid tie or stand-alone). We engage in the purchase and distribution of equipment used for solar and pure inverter systems which involves but are not limited to inverter, solar charge controllers, solar panels, automatic transfer switches, batteries, wiring cables of different size, dimensions, and capacity. We ensure that we install reliable systems that is tested severally before it is commissioned within the given project time limit. 1

Execution Strategy Our execution strategy incorporates proven methodologies, extremely qualified engineering personnel, and a highly responsive approach to managing deliverables. Following is a description of our project methods, including how the project will be developed and a proposed timeline of events. Solar or inverter system are sensitive to design. The reliability of solar system installation as well as optimal resources utilization in dependent on correct sizing of component from the beginning of the project. No two solar systems are exactly the same as loads and conditions varies. Hence, we carry out intensive survey before designing any renewable energy system for our clients. These include assessing the site conditions to determine the available solar resources, followed by load assessment which include the ratings of individual loads as well as the number of hours each load operated in a day in order to determine its power consumption, also, we determine the most suitable components of the system to install and determining the placement of the solar panels that would yield maximum amount of energy. We isolate specific load to be powered by renewable energy. Depending on the system and its requirements, a solar or inverter system can typically take 1 to 4 days to install. Resources Our resources includes, but are not limited to: A team of skilled engineers All the required tools to accomplish a reliable system Safety techniques used in installation Various components of the solar and inverter systems Our key personnel Olufemi Ogungbe- Field engineer (solar) (B.Eng. Elect/Elect Engineering) With a degree in electrical and electronics engineering, Olufemi Ogungbe graduated with a cgpa of 4.18 while covering all the course content related to electrical engineering. He has worked with various engineering companies that specialize in solar systems and inverter systems where he has gained vast experience in the field of renewable energy. Among the many projects he has under taken include the solar system installation for a Total petrol station in Kano, Abuja, Kogi and other states. Olufemi is our key engineer at SolarBot as he ensures that all systems are up to standard. Olufemi Ogungbe 2

Sani Mohammed Kabir Project engineer (B.Eng. Elect/Elect Engineering) Sani Mohammed Kabir graduated from Federal University of Technology Minna where he studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering. With experience in electrical system design and installation, he is able to coordinate various installation which is geared towards achieving client's satisfaction. He has ability to use computer software to create accurate and reliable designs before installations are carried out. Mustapha Abdussamad Technical engineer (B.Eng. Elect/Elect Engineering) As a technical engineer for SolarBot, Abdussamad ensures that projects meet all the electrical regulations and standard in accordance with IEEE regulations. He has experience in electrical power systems as he as participated in the installation of various substations in Nigeria. He also has experience working for the Transmission company of Nigeria (TCN), a company that handles the transmission network of electricity in Nigeria. Ahmad Idris Safety Engineer (NEBOSH Certified HSE, B.Eng. Elect Engineering) A National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) certified HSE officer, Ahmad Idris is a graduate of electrical and electronics engineering with a 4.37 gpa. A very intelligent engineer who was one of the few to pass the NEBOSH examination during his time. With an attitude of paying attention to details, He ensures that all projects carried out are in line with safety principles and regulation. In so doing, ensuring safety for both clients and installation engineers. Project Deliverables Our deliverables are of three categories which are as follows: Ahmad Idris 1. Stand-alone/ off-grid system: This system is installed to serve as a complete power solution for the connected load. This system is completely off-grid as it does not depend on any other source of electricity asides solar. Power is generated by solar, stored in batteries and then used as required. 2. Grid fallback system: This system primarily relies on solar but falls back to grid power automatically if power from the batteries runs out. 3. Grid failover system: This system primarily utilizes the power from the grid. The solar power kicks in when there is power failure from the grid. Following is a complete list of all project deliverables: 3

Deliverable Description Residential buildings: Solar systems that can either serve as a stand-alone system, grid fallback, grid failover system to ensure adequate power for connected load as per client requirements Inverter systems that can serve as backup power for some or all loads in a given home Solar water pump to provide adequate power for pump machines for water supply Offices Solar systems to power critical load in offices or departments. Pure inverter systems to serve as backup to sensitive and important loads. Solar street lights to serve as outdoor lighting for commercial buildings Hospitals Inverter systems for sensitive and critical equipment that require a backup power supply Solar systems for specific loads as required Solar street light to ensure an active outdoor lighting Schools Solar street lights to provide outdoor light in academic environment Solar systems or pure inverter systems in computer centers that require steady supply Backup power supply for lecture rooms and presentation halls. Other centers commercial Both solar system and inverter system are applied as required Solar Comparison with Generator The following table shows the comparison between a 7.5Kva complete solar system and its equivalent fuel powered generator for a 5-year period. From the chart about 70,000 would be saved each year by opting for a solar system rather than a diesel or petrol powered generator. 4

january march may july september november january march may july september november january march may july september november january march may july september november january march may july september november Amount A 7.5kVA system generator vs solar system for a 5-year period YEAR TOTAL GENERATOR COST (Initial cost + monthly maintenance cost) TOTAL SOLAR COST (Initial cost + monthly maintenance cost) year 1 772,000 2,506,000 year 2 1,294,000 2,512,000 year 3 1,816,000 2,518,000 year 4 2,338,000 2,524,000 year 5 2,860,000 2,530,000 The above table is based on the current fuel price of 145 per litre and the consumption of 10 liters per day on generator. With this rate, about 66,000 would be saved each year if a solar system is used instead of a generator. There would also be an increase in the amount saved if it was a diesel generator compared to a solar system. With the unstable nature of fuel price in the country, the cost saved might also increase significantly not to mention the difficulty that comes with using a generator system.
