Stations and Modules With KRAL Premium Products ATEX 94/9/EC. In order to comply with ATEX, it is important that no flammable fluids leak from the pumps. KRAL pumps with magnetic coupling are hermetically sealed. In cases where magnetic couplings are unsuitable since the electric motor would be too large due to the need to compensate for performance losses of the coupling, KRAL offers slip-ring seals with quench as shaft seals. Our customer, a large power plant supplier, has obtained from KRAL a total of 7 pumping systems for the ignition and auxiliary firing of coal burners for the expansion of an existing coal-fired power station. In ignition firing, an oil burner heats up the coal to incandescence. Once that stage is reached, the process continues on its own and the oil burner can be turned off. Poor quality coal requires permanent auxiliary firing. Thanks to a finely graduated range of sizes, KRAL fuel and burner systems offer the greatest possible economy in different applications and meet the requirements of individual installation conditions.
