TECHNICAL INFORMATION TECHNICAL INFORMATION INSTALLATION CHART FOR CALCULATING FRICTION LOSSES IN HOSES CORRECT INSTALLATION OF THE PUMPS Although installing PRORIL subersible pups is fairly straightforward, there are a few basic things that need to be taken into consideration to ensure optial perforance and to prevent excessive wear and/or daages. Firstly, it is paraount that the pup is prevented fro digging itself into the soil, which is particularly coon on sites with sandy- or clay type soils. This can be achieved by suspending the pup above the botto of the casing using a rope/chain in case of deepwell applications, or by placing the pup on a base of soe sort (e.g. wooden plank or coarse gravel) in case of open sup puping. Secondly you should prevent tight bends and kinks in the discharge hose at all ties. When bent strongly, the axiu flow capacity of the hose is reduced and it will create additional friction losses and will reduce the overall flow perforance of the pup.
