Product description Guide rings for piston rods can be used for very heavy loads in hydraulics. The profiling (patented) on the static side of the guide ring ensures an even distribution of stress. Tolerance recommendation D 1 8 The tolerance recommendation for dimensions D and df must be regarded in conjunction with the seal being used. The diameter d1 stated in the dimensional table must be seen solely with reference to the guide ring. The corresponding diameter of an adjacent seal installation space must be matched to the sealing element involved. When determining the permissible specific compression per unit area, the non-linear characteristic of the compression over the contact area has been taken into account The permissible loading on the guide strip is calculated by multiplying the projected area by the permissible specific compression per unit area. The depiction here shows the ideal case with parallel loading. The figure given for the permissible specific compression per unit area, however, takes into account the possible angular offset of rod or piston when the recommended guide elements are used.
