Sectin 1. GENERAL 1.1 GTX 33X The Garmin GTX 33X family cnsists f the GTX 330 ES and GTX 33 ES (Nn- Diversity Mde S Transpnders) and the GTX 330D ES and GTX 33D ES (Diversity Mde S Transpnders). The ES ptin f any f the transpnders prvides ADS-B extended squitter functinality. All Garmin GTX 33X transpnders are a radi transmitter/receiver that perates n radar frequencies, receiving grund radar r TCAS interrgatins at 1030 MHz and transmitting a cded respnse f pulses t grund-based radar n a frequency f 1090 MHz. Each unit is equipped with IDENT capability t initiate the SPI (special psitin identificatin) pulse fr 18 secnds and will reply t ATCRBS Mde A, Mde C and Mde S All-Call interrgatin. When the system is nt peratinal, ADS-B Out transmit failure messages will be present n the remte cntrl display interface, r the GTX 330 r GTX 3X5 panel display. If a Gables 7534 cntrller is being used the ADS-B equipment failure cnditin will be annunciated n the Gables display Transpnder Fail while the ADS-B Out Psitin failure will be annunciated by the remtely installed ADS-B POSN FAIL Annunciatr. 2.3 TIS Traffic Display with User Navigatin Angle Display f TIS traffic frm a GTX 33/330 r GTX 335 is nt permitted with an interfacing display cnfigured fr a navigatin angle f user. 190-00734-15 Rev. 3 AFMS, Garmin GTX 33X and 3X5 XPDR with ADS-B Page 12 f 17 FAA APPROVED

2.4 Applicable System Sftware This AFMS/AFM is applicable t the sftware versins shwn in Table 3. The Main GTX sftware versin is displayed n the splash screen during start up fr the GTX 330 and GTX 3X5 panel munted units, and the External LRU r System page n the interfaced remte cntrl display fr remtely munted GTX transpnders. D nt use the indicated datalink weather prduct age t determine the age f the weather infrmatin shwn by the datalink weather prduct. Due t time delays inherent in gathering and prcessing weather data fr datalink transmissin, the weather infrmatin shwn by the datalink weather prduct may be significantly lder than the indicated weather prduct age. D nt rely slely upn datalink services t prvide Temprary Flight Restrictin (TFR) r Ntice t Airmen (NOTAM) infrmatin. 2.7 Prtable Electrnic Devices This STC des nt relieve the peratr frm cmplying with the requirements f 91.21 r any ther peratinal regulatin regarding prtable electrnic devices.
