Torsionally rigid construction As with the single-girder overhead travelling cranes, the crane girders and end carriages on the doublegirder overhead travelling cranes are rigid box-girder designs. This means the cranes have excellent travel characteristics coupled with maximum torsional stability, minimum wear on the travel wheels and crane runways. High-performance rope hoists ZKKE-Bas double-girder overhead travelling cranes are used in conjunction with the EZDR-Bas double-rail crab. The particularly good lifting height is derived from the fact that the load hook can be raised between the two crane girders.
