Salter Collection consists of 47,021 items including railroad related photographs, negatives, slides, timetables/schedules, maps, posters, books including Official Guides, correspondence and model trains of various scales. The family of the late David W. Salter donated his collections to the Southern Museum in May 2010. Single photocopies are available for research purposes only for a nominal fee. A list of applicable fees can be found on our website www.southernmuseum.org and then click on Duplication of Services Fee Schedule. Sallie Loy, Richard Hillman, Daniel Pete and volunteer, Susanne Whitmer, processed these photographs in 2010-2012. Description: This series consists of photographs of Southern Railways Diesel Locomotives, circa 1940 1970. Descriptions are representative samples in the collection and not detailed entirely as to their contents.
