HELKAMA BICA FISCAL PERIOD 2016 Helkama Bica Oy is a Finnish family enterprise specializing in marine, offshore and industrial cables. The company has a sound track record in cable excellence going back more than 50 years. Helkama is committed to meet customer requirements in quality, availability and good customer service. Helkama is widely acclaimed as a reliable supplier. Exports accounted for 69% of the Finnish business, and products were exported to a total of 58 countries. The total sales revenue of the cable business was 42,3 million euros. The sales revenue of Helkama Bica Oy amounted to 30,2 million euros. The sales revenue of Helkama Bica (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. affiliate amounted to 12,1 million euros. Helkama has two manufacturing plants in Finland and one in China. Helkama Bica employs 130 persons in Finland and 60 persons in China. Helkama Bica is a member of Helkama Emotor group. MARINE AND OFFSHORE CABLES During the financial year, the sales of the largest Helkama Bica business segment, i.e. marine and offshore cables, amounted to 35,7 million euros. This includes sales by the Chinese affiliate. Exports accounted for 76 % of the Finnish business. Geographically, the most important markets were in Europe and Asia. INDUSTRIAL CABLES Sales of industrial cables amounted to 6,6 million euros. Cables were produced in Finland and in China. The product range consisted of instrumentation and optical fiber cables, as well as customer-specific cables.
HELKAMA BICA PRODUCT GROUPS MARINE AND OFFSHORE CABLES Power, control and communication cables, halogen-free and fire-resistant cables. Fire and water spray or jet resistant cables according to EN 50200 and BS 8491. Oil and mud-resistant cables. EMC-shielded cables for VFD-systems. These cables have been approved by the major classification societies. OEM CABLES Cables made according to customer specifications. CONTROL CABLES Cables for instrumentation, process control, sound reproduction, computer and alarm systems as well as paging systems. Cables also suitable for the oil refining industry. The cables provide effective protection against direct electromagnetic interference. OPTICAL FIBRE CABLES Cables for indoor and outdoor installation in ducts, non-metallic cables for ducts and underground cables. FLEXIBLE CABLES H-Flex: H-FLEX flexible cables are developed for applications demanding high mechanical performance as well as high chemical and oil resistance. Cables can be used in free movable and free hanging installation as well as for fixed installation. FIRE-RESISTANT CABLES Helkama LifeCord and Helkama FireLine: Installation cables, instrumentation, communication and control cables, optical fibre cables. The cables comply with IEC 60331 fire-resistance criteria.

HELKAMA COMPANIES Helkama Bica is a part of a genuine family enterprise, with roots stretching back four generations. It is one of the subsidiaries of the holding company Helkama Emotor. The others are Helkama Velox, famous for its Helkama bicycles, and Suomen Polkupyörätukku, the biggest bicycle retail chain in Finland. Other Helkama enterprises include real estate and holding company Suomen Koneliike and logistics company Uuttera. Helkama-Auto Group imports Skoda and runs Avis and Budget car rental businesses in Finland. Helkama-Kiinteistöt manages the shared real estate business of Helkama companies. Both Helkama-Auto and Helkama-Kiinteistöt are joint ventures of the three owner companies. In 2015, Helkama companies celebrated their 110th anniversary.
