Sporty interior elements, like sport seats, a sport leather steering wheel with red contrast stitching, subtle trim accents, seat details and a sporty instrument cluster design underscore the character of the Sport Line. Luxury Line for drivers with classic tastes: discreet high-gloss chrome elements like the kidney grille, air inlets, tailpipes, and side window frames create a particularly elegant exterior for drivers favouring a classic look. In the interior, classic colours, further chrome accents and fine wood trim, complete the distinguished character of this vehicle personality. Key Features to note: New interior ambience and a more generous sense of space. The interior of the new BMW 3 Series Sedan appears new and familiar at the same time: the cockpit has been angled towards the driver by seven degrees, and its ergonomics further enhanced. And even though some additional features have been added, the handling of the idrive control system remains as intuitively easy as ever especially when compared against the competition. Conspicuous changes compared to the predecessor include the two cup holders placed in front of the selector lever, door compartments able to accommodate 1-litre bottles, as well as the large, free-standing
Page 3 flatscreen Control Display, which has enabled a low instrument panel design in the new BMW 3 Series Sedan, for a very spacious and airy ambience. The room gained by the longer wheelbase offers tangible benefits, especially for rear seat passengers: An additional 18 millimetres of legroom, for easier vehicle entry. 15 millimetres of additional knee room behind the front seats. An additional eight millimetres of headroom at the rear. The luggage compartment capacity has grown by another 20 litres to 480 litres, matching Audi and Mercedes. Another innovation is the no-touch, keyless boot lid opening mechanism, available in conjunction with the comfort access option on the BMW 335i. All engines with exemplary CO2 emissions down to 118 g/km. For the first time, the new BMW 3 Series Sedan will come with the new BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine. This means that all engines for the BMW 3 Series both the petrol and diesel variants are now turbocharged, and provide exemplary CO2 results. The BMW 3 Series Sedan will debut in March 2012 with the new 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine for the BMW 328i, optimised 2.0-litre diesel engine (BMW 320d), and the proven six-cylinder in-line petrol engine with 3.0-litre capacity (BMW 335i). All engines provide impressive dynamic performance optimised acceleration and pulling power with fuel consumption and emissions considerably reduced over their predecessors. For example, the new BMW 328i with 8-speed automatic transmission has an average EU fuel consumption that is exactly 26 per cent less than that of its BMW 325i predecessor, while offering better performance. The new BMW 335i with 8-speed automatic transmission has an average EU fuel consumption of 7.2 l/100 km a whole 23 per cent less than its predecessor. But the absolute highlight in terms of fuel economy is the BMW 320d, with an average EU fuel consumption of just 4.5 litres/100 km and CO2 emissions of only 118 g/km. BMW 320d Sedan: Four-cylinder diesel engine, BMW TwinPower Turbo technology with variable turbine geometry (VTG), Common Rail direct injection, turbocharger, 2.0- litre capacity, 135 kw/184 hp, 380 Nm, 0 100 km/h: 7.6 sec, EU fuel consumption: 4.5 litres/100 km, CO2: 118 g/km. BMW 328i Sedan: four-cylinder petrol engine, BMW TwinPower Turbo technology with direct injection, Valvetronic, and TwinScroll turbocharger, 2.0-litre capacity, 180 kw/245 hp, 350 Nm, 0 100 km/h: 6.1 sec, EU fuel consumption: 6.3 litres/100 km, CO2: 147 g/km. The highly efficient and powerful engine for the BMW 328i takes over from the BMW 325i, offering better performance and lower fuel consumption of its predecessor engine.
Page 4 BMW 335i Sedan: six-cylinder petrol engine, BMW TwinPower Turbo technology with direct injection, Valvetronic, and TwinScroll turbocharger, 3.0-litre capacity, 225 kw/306 hp, 400 Nm, 0 100 km/h: 5.5 sec, EU fuel consumption: 7.2 litres/100 km, CO2: 169 g/km. The new BMW 3 Series Sedan is available with 8-speed automatic transmission whose performance has so far received nothing but top grades in all comparative tests conducted by the media. All engines come with Auto Start/Stop function as standard another achievement unmatched in this class by any other manufacturer in the world today. New: ECO PRO mode to make fuel saving fun. Similar to the new BMW 5 Series (Dealer Bulletin 01/12), the new BMW 3 Series Sedan comes with the new, intelligent ECO PRO mode included as standard. This system acts as an additional incentive for customers to save even more fuel: when the driver activates the ECO PRO mode via the Driving Experience Control button, the vehicle slightly reduces its power delivery, heating and air conditioning output as well as other electric comfort functions. ECO PRO tips shown in the Control Display provide the driver with additional hints on how to lower fuel consumption even further. The resulting fuel savings are shown as bonus kilometres added to the vehicle s range. There is also a clear display showing the vehicle s fuel consumption for the journey the driver has just covered. The ECO PRO mode helps drivers achieve fuel savings of up to 20 per cent, depending on their individual style of driving (figure established during a BMW in-house fuel consumption study). Sporty handling and even greater ride comfort. Driving characteristics are another area where the new BMW 3 Series Sedan raises the bar quite considerably for its class. This is above all thanks to its overall concept: sophisticated suspension technology with independent front and rear suspension, longitudinal front engine, rear-wheel drive, balanced front-rear weight distribution and an extremely rigid body that is up to 45 kilogram lighter than that of its predecessor. So despite increased dimensions, the new sixth-generation BMW 3 Series Sedan is once more the most lightweight premium sports sedan in the segment. Its hallmark BMW vehicle concept, longer wheelbase and increased track width have once more improved the car.s handling, steering precision and controllability in critical situations, and take the new BMW 3 Series Sedan a step beyond its predecessor, to a higher level. The distinct increase in ride comfort is equally noticeable. No other competitor can match this combination of sporting appeal and comfort. - Chassis: with especially lightweight chassis components, perfectly fine-tuned axle kinematics and state-of-the-art electronic control systems for superior agility and directional accuracy combined with a level of comfort that once more exceeds that of the predecessor. Variable Sport Steering (335i): this speed-independent system changes the steering ratio in line with the steering angle. It includes the Servotronic function and reduces the steering wheel movement required to achieve a particularly tight steering angle. This significantly enhances agility in tight corners and hairpin bends, and makes parking and manoeuvring more comfortable. For smaller steering angles, the system provides

Unlike the speed-dependent Active Steering, where the steering ratio is adjusted by an actuator, this is a mechanical rack-and-pinion steering system with varying tooth spacing. Driving Experience Control: a button on the centre console enables the driver to adjust the accelerator, engine, steering and DSC response, as well as the response of the automatic transmission. The modes available include COMFORT, SPORT and SPORT+ (BMW 328i and BMW 335i). All models will include the ECO PRO mode as standard. BMW ConnectedDrive: Head-up now also for the 3 Series. The full range of BMW ConnectedDrive driver assistance features and mobility services unmatched by any competitor is available for the new BMW 3 Series Sedan. This includes the new full-colour BMW Head-up Display.
