VELOCE 140 CLASS RANGE FD
4 CLASS RANGE FD VELOCE 140 POWERED BY EXCELLENCE Today Benetti presents the dynamic new sporting spirit that lies at the heart of the brand, with all the comfort, construction quality and customisation excellence that have satisfied the world s most demanding Owners for the last 140 years. Benetti Veloce 140, the flagship of the new Class Range Fast Displacement fleet, combines comfort, design and performance with a bespoke configuration. More speed and better performance, all delivered with the navigation efficiency of the patented new D2P hull, developed through constant research into advanced technology. Veloce 140 will change the world of yachting, with a boat that is big on comfort, where guest and crew areas are entirely separate to create a heaven of privacy in comfortable exteriors and in stylish interiors. CLASS RANGE FD 125 Veloce 140
5 A NEW REVOLUTIONARY HULL The new Veloce 140 was developed by Benetti in collaboration with the Azimut Benetti Group Research Centre, which has designed an extremely innovative hull geometry exclusively for the new model. Veloce 140 is in fact equipped with a revolutionary new D2P_Displacement to Planing hull which unites sportiness and the performance of a planing hull with the comfort and quiet of a displacement hull. The D2P hull has been coupled with a wave piercer bulbous at bow, a combination which affords increased cruising efficiency (less resistance to forward motion) of up to 30% compared to a conventional hull. 6 The design of this new hull was carried out using a series of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) simulations to define the best possible geometries. This was followed by extensive tank testing to verify the computer simulations and validate the hull geometries and associated appendages. After an initial theoretical phase of developing the hull shape based on preliminary design data and layout (sizes, general plan, and design specifications), the design process then involved a hull optimising phase using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) simulations. The development of the hull shapes was quickly followed by tank testing (at the Brodarski Institute in Zagreb) during which important hull components were optimised and validated including the bow wave piercer and the stern tunnel thrusters. The tank testing also included hull auto propulsion tests on all the appendages, to verify the final propulsion efficiency and associated speed performance. The D2P hull is equipped with a wave piercer, enabling Veloce 140 to reach higher speeds without engine strain, or to cruise in displacement mode at an economical speed with a much greater range. The hull has been optimised for the entire range of most frequently used speeds, including displacement modes from 10-12 knots with increased range as well as cruising speeds and maximum speed of 22 knots in semi-displacement mode. Compared to the traditional semi-displacement hull, the new D2P hull offers countless advantages: Increased efficiency at all speeds and therefore maximum flexibility of use Lower fuel consumption and therefore greater range Higher cruising speed and therefore reduced transfer times Significant reduction in pitch and slamming and therefore increased cruising comfort CLASS RANGE FD VELOCE 140 Shape optimisation of the bow Wave-Piercer
10 On the upper deck, at the bow, a large sun deck area that can easily be covered to provide shade for al fresco cocktails, features sofas, a sun pad and jacuzzi for the privacy of guests, even during mooring or anchoring. Bow Area: private sunbathing and Jacuzzi
11 The innovative shifting of the garage to ¾ ship with egress for the tender and water toys on the starboard bulwark frees up space astern for a lower stern hatch and large beach area including bar, loungers, mattresses, shower, gym and dressing room. Beach Area
12 CLASS RANGE FD VELOCE 140 The interior decoration is by the famous British design studio Redman-Whitley-Dixon, which has identified three different types of concept: Air, the more modern and minimal; Sea, with classic marine tones; and finally Land, with warmer and more contemporary atmospheres. Inspired by these suggestions, Veloce 140 Owners can personalise every detail of interiors to match their personality, as is the case for every Benetti.
13 air CLASS RANGE FD VELOCE 140 AIR is a contemporary space that uses elevated surfaces and clean defined lines to create a spacious, open interior. Vertical metal accents wrap overhead dividing fabric panels and appear to support highly polished surfaces. Mirrored kick recesses and lacquered surfaces are a striking contrast to the luxurious gloss timber doors and feature walls. Crisp, dramatically lit gesso panels provide interesting focal points in the saloons and dining spaces.

A layering of timber surfaces and fine detailing exude style and a distinct attention to detail. Rich, finely patterned fabrics and bronze accent features are accompanied by deep fabric colours that contrast the light, herringbone fabric wrapped panels.
