Ford Parts Formatter Overview Included in Product Release 5081, is the enhanced Parts Formatter program for Ford Retailers. The Parts Formatter program will now accommodate multiple Ford part number formats (within the same part number character length). All Parts and Service application functions, including Body Shop and Expert Service Pricing (ESP) that utilize Ford part numbers display the correct formatted part. When a Ford part number is entered on any screen with or without slashes, or with any special characters, the part number will be unformatted (behind the scenes). The system will first look in Parts Inventory (PIMAST) to find a matching unformatted part number. If a match is found in Parts Inventory (PIMAST), the system displays the formatted part number. If a match is not found in Parts Inventory (PIMAST), the system will look in the Manufacturer file for a matching unformatted part number. o o If a match is found in the Manufacturer file, the matching formatted part number displays. If a match is not found in the Manufacturer file, the part number will be accepted exactly as it was entered. Included in this document is information about changes to the Parts Price Update procedure, Cross Reference Parts, Body Shop, and Expert Service Pricing (ESP). January 2006 2 of 5
