Established in 1855, Morrison Bros. Co. is among the oldest private manufacturing firms in the Midwestern United States. Throughout the last century, the Morrison tradition grew and today the company is well known for providing top quality products and services. PRODUCT LINE Morrison Bros. Co. products serve a broad spectrum for those who rely on petroleum and other liquid resources for their energy needs. Petroleum marketing is the segment that is downstream of the refining operations. It involves bulk storage and handling, transportation, motor fueling, and related infrastructure that bring energy to the end user. Morrison equipment includes the components and hardware fitted to the storage tanks and systems to facilitate liquid handling. WARRANTY All products are thoroughly tested before shipment. Material found to be defective in manufacture will be replaced or repaired at our discretion. Claims must be made within one year from the date of invoice. Morrison Bros. Co. will not allow claims for labor or consequential damage resulting from purchase, installation or misapplication of the product. PRODUCT SAFETY All Morrison products are designed and built to engineered standards. Additionally, some are designed and built to meet appropriate recognized standards and codes and are used in systems that must also meet certain standards and codes. All Morrison products fit within an acceptable range for application and use. The products require sufficient knowledge and experience on the part of the installer and/or end user to insure proper use. Improper use of Morrison products can lead to property damage, injury and death. Please contact Morrison Bros. Co. immediately if you believe you have a Morrison product that is the cause of, or contributing to, a safety risk so proper evaluation and corrective action can be taken by the company. MANUFACTURING Morrison Bros. Co. is dedicated to a full range of manufacturing capabilities. From raw material to finished product, Morrison manufactures most products completely in-house. Our belief is that the long-term value of experience and control in such processes as metal casting, machining and finishing, outweigh the short-term pricing lure that periodically arises with outsourcing. SERVICE The hallmark for Morrison service is in the depth of participation and consistency. Putting the customer first involves every level of the organization. It does not end at Sales and Customer Service, but continues through Production, Engineering, Quality Control, and all other departments. Long-term relationships are highly valued at Morrison and consistency in fair treatment will always be the main objective. LITERATURE In addition to our product catalog, other literature is available including our Venting Guide for Aboveground Storage Tanks and AST Bulk Storage Diagrams. These items can be requested through our Customer Service or obtained on our website at www.morbros.com. We also have literature pieces available in Spanish. The valve opens at the initial stage of a fill and transfers the initial slug of air from the hose into the tank above the liquid level. This helps eliminate the turbulence created by air being forced through the liquid, which helps reduce vapor pressure. The valve can be installed on new or existing drop tubes. A special installation tool is also available for purchase. Fig. 542 Installation Tool Page 9 Morrison Catalog www.morbros.com

Emergency Shutoff Valves Emergency Shutoff Valve UL Listed required on underground tank motor fueling systems. The emergency shutoff valve, or impact valve, is installed on the fuel line directly under the dispenser. It is intended to shut off the flow of product in the event of impact and/or fire involving the dispenser. In normal operation, the valve is left open, held in position by a fusible link. A shear section is located in the upper half of the valve and must be installed level with the base of the dispenser. In an emergency, the handle releases and the spring-loaded poppet assembly will close. Important Warning this valve requires periodic inspection to ensure the shutoff mechanism is operating correctly. Always shutoff the power to the dispenser when changing filters or doing maintenance. This valve is not intended to be used as a block valve and should not be opened under pressure. Opening under pressure can damage or distort internal components. Available in brass and ductile iron. Teflon fitted is an option for brass, standard for ductile. Pressure Rating cold, non-shock, 200 PSI WOG Description The 534/535 gate valve is the same as Fig. 234/235 gate valve but with the additional feature of expansion relief. Expansion Relief piping exposed to outside temperature rise will create pressure build-up in sections of piping that are isolated by closed valves for example. Expansion relief feature allows product to bleed back through the closed valve, and thereby helping relieve excessive pressure in the line. If left uncontrolled, pressure build-up within a system can result in a release of product to the outside. Emergency Vents 244 Series Emergency Vent Emergency vent (pressure relief only) used on aboveground storage tanks, as a code requirement that helps prevent the tanks from becoming over-pressurized and rupturing if exposed to fire. UL listed except for 2". Fig.244 Description The 244 emergency vent consists of a body and a black powder coated cover (2" not powder coated) that moves up and down on a center pin. Pressure inside the tank forces the cover to lift up off the vent seat, allowing air to exhaust. The center pin guides the movement. When pressure falls the cover lowers back down onto seat and the vent is automatically reset. Code Compliance When properly sized for the tank, this vent will conform to the requirements of NFPA 30, 30A, UL 142, UL 2244, API 2000, and PEI RP200. Morrison tank vents are designed only for use on shop fabricated atmospheric tanks which have been built and tested in accordance with UL 142, NFPA 30 & 30A, and API 650 and in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws. In normal operation, dust and debris can accumulate in vent openings and block air passages. Certain atmospheric conditions such as a sudden drop in temperature, below freezing temperatures, and freezing rain can cause moisture to enter the vent and freeze which can restrict internal movement of vent mechanisms and block air passages. All storage tank vent air passages must be completely free of restriction and all vent mechanisms must have free movement in order to insure proper operation. Any restriction of airfl ow can cause excessive pressure or vacuum to build up in the storage tank, which can result in structural damage to the tank, fuel spillage, property damage, fi re, injury, and death. Monthly inspection, and immediate inspection during freezing conditions, by someone familiar with the proper operation of storage tank vents, is required to insure venting devices are functioning properly before fi lling or unloading a tank. Normal vents such as pressure vacuum and updraft vents for aboveground storage tanks should be sized according to NFPA 30 (2008) 21.4.3 Page 19 Morrison Catalog www.morbros.com

Emergency vent should be set at least 2 oz. higher than the Fig. 922 NOTE Not for use on vapor recovery systems. WARNING Do not fill or unload fuel from a storage tank unless it is certain that the tank vents will operate properly. Any restriction of airflow can cause excessive pressure or vacuum to build up in the storage tank, which can result in structural damage to the tank, fuel spillage, property damage, fire, injury, and death. Monthly inspection, and immediate inspection during freezing conditions, by someone familiar with the proper operation of storage tank vents, is required to insure venting devices are functioning properly before filling or unloading a tank. Normal vents such as pressure vacuum and updraft vents for aboveground storage tanks should be sized according to NFPA 30 (2008) 21.4.3 Page 22 Morrison Catalog www.morbros.com
