R&R Productions Demolition Derby *Rules and Safety Regulations* Friday, August 19 and Saturday, August 20, 2016 During the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair ANY PARTICIPANTS THAT BRING 5 OR MORE RACE READY VEHICLES OR TRAILER/VEHICLE COMBINATIONS WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A $50 PER ENTRY BONUS!! *** One night only - 8 Cylinder Modified Class Saturday, August 20, 2016 *** MINIVAN CLASS IS OPEN. Minimum of 5 vehicles to make a class. Mad Dog Hard Hit prize money will be awarded each night. The R & R Productions Demolition Derby is promoted as a popular spectator attraction. In the interest of safety, Drivers and Mechanics are subject to, and must obey, the following rules and regulations which have been established by R & R Productions and the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair Entertainment Committee. A. The track or promoter reserves the right to approve or reject any and all entries. B. A minimum of 5 cars are required to make a class. C. Each driver must fill out an entry blank for each night of participation. All drivers must supply their own cars, only one entry per person per class. Proof of ownership may be required on each car entered. B. All drivers and/or pit persons 16 or 17 years of age must have a notarized release signed by his or her parent or guardian. Nobody under 16 years of age can drive or be in the pit area. D. All persons must sign the release sheet and receive a pit pass to be permitted in the pit area or on the track. E. No drinking of alcoholic beverages on fairgrounds. Any driver or pit person under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be immediately disqualified and removed from the grounds. F. Any driver or crew member disobeying the rules will cause his or her car to be disqualified. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated and will be grounds for disqualification and barring from future derbies. Drivers are responsible for the actions of their crew members. G. Contestants of the R&R Productions Demolition Derby are not employees of R&R Productions Demolition Derby. R&R Productions Demolition Derby will not be responsible for any damage caused by driver's negligence on the track or in the pit area. "Drivers and pit personnel are responsible for any damage caused by their negligence on the track or in the pit area." H. The promoter, track owner or fair association will not be held responsible for any cars, parts or personal property before, during and after the show or overnight. TOWING AND TRANSPORTING CARS 1. Towing and transporting Demolition Derby cars to and from race locations must meet highway safety codes (including proper light controls, safety chains, tow bars, towing trailers, etc.) TYPE OF CAR 1. Any hardtop automobile or station wagon is allowed. No Chrysler Imperials, limousines, convertibles, jeeps, hearses or diesel run vehicles are allowed. 4 cylinder compact cars must have a 104 inch wheel base or less. No AMC's in the compact class. PREPARATION OF CAR 1. Side windows, rear windows, head, and tail lights MUST be removed from vehicle. Rolling windows down is not permitted. 2. Windshield removal is optional and may remain on vehicle if desired. A STRONG WIRE OR NYLON MESH SCREEN IS RECOMMENDED ON DRIVER'S WINDOWS AND WINDSHIELD AREA IF REMOVED. 3. Auto must be swept clean. No junk tires, wheels, metal parts, broken glass, etc. allowed in car. 4. All fiberglass or plastic front header panels must be removed. 5. Any sharp protruding fins or dangerous objects must be remedied( mash down or cut off). 6. No special bumpers, reinforcements or trailer hitches permitted. Fenders and bumper ends may be trimmed to allow for wheel clearance. On late model, shock bumper may be lightly welded or short piece of chain from bolt on bumper to bolt on frame.(trailer hitches only permitted for trailer racing) 7. 4 Cylinder Classes only may use any like front bumper that does not extend more than 1 outside of stock body lines in the front or on either side and must be clean cut. The front bumper may be bolted or attached with welds no greater than 1 in length and in no more than 4 locations to the stock mounts. 8. Suspension MUST remain STRICTLY STOCK. Do not invert spring shackles on Fords. Do not crank up torsion bar suspension on Chrysler Corp. cars. All cars MUST have some give or bounce. No rigid suspension.

Page 2 9.Chained down engine mounts are recommended but not required. 10. No 3/4 ton rear ends. 11. Radiators must remain in original position. Comparable replacement radiators are permitted. Radiators and cooling systems must be flushed of anti-freeze and only water added. Transmission coolers are permitted but ONLY if they are secured inside the engine compartment. 12. Dash bars are permitted between the A posts, behind the front seat between the B posts, and a bar from the B post behind the seat bar to the kick panel on the driver s side are permitted but not required. 13. All doors must be fastened shut by wire, straps and chains. It is recommended the driver's door be reinforced inside with a steel bar, or pipe not to exceed 6" beyond front of front door and not more than 6 beyond rear of the front door. 14. ONLY ONE STOCK BATTERY, is allowed. Battery must be moved from original position, and placed on floorboard of driver's compartment and securely fastened and covered. 15. Headers may not extend out of the hood. 16. Hood, trunk or tailgate may be wired in six (6) places each, 2 strands of wire per hole. Light chains may be used on trunk or tailgate only. Wiring must be from sheet metal to sheet metal. No other wiring to bumpers or frames. Official's decision on over use of wire or chains. HOODS AND TRUNK MUST BE LEFT OPEN UNTIL AFTER INSPECTION. HOODS MUST REMAIN ON CARS 17. **** Vehicle Numbers will be issued on day of event by R&R Productions Demolition Derby during on site check-in.**** NO PROFANITY WILL BE ALLOWED ON ANY PORTION OF CAR. 18. The original gas tank may remain on your car if they are in front of the rear axle and underneath the rear seat. If gas tank if relocated/replaced it must be an approved metal tank and securely fastened to floor and covered. Gas lines and fittings to fuel tanks must be secured and leak proof. Only original metal or rubber gas lines permitted. Maximum three (3) gallons of gas permitted per heat. Electric fuel pumps are not permitted in the driver or passenger compartment but must have a shut-off switch within drivers reach. Inspection official will give final approval on tanks and fittings. 19. Each driver and mechanic must SIGN IN at registration desk the day of the show and have their car INSPECTED at least ONE HOUR prior to show time. 20. IT IS MANDATORY THAT AN OPENING BE CUT IN HOOD COVER OVER THE CARBURETOR, approximately 12" or larger, square or diameter. HOOD LATCHES MUST BE REMOVED. 21. NO RESTRICTIONS ON TIRE SIZE. NO STUDS OR SCREWS IN RIMS TO HOLD TIRES. NO SPLIT RIMS. WHEEL WEIGHTS MUST BE REMOVED. DOT approved street tires that are all-season rated with a non-aggressive tread that hold air are allowed. No foam filled or solid tires permitted. The side wall may extend no further than 1 outside the stock body lines. No studded tires, tractor tires, skid steer tires. The decision of the inspectors in final. SAFETY REGULATIONS 1. Safety belt, Z-90 approved helmet, goggles, safety glasses or face shields are required. Long pants and shirts or jackets are required. 2. No deliberate head-on collisions and no deliberate hitting on the driver's door. 3. Vehicles must have dependable brakes at all times and boundaries must be observed. 4. No cars are permitted in the competition area before the heat in which they are to participate. 5. If a vehicle has been rolled over or all 4 wheels are off the ground, track Safety Officials will determine if it will be disqualified or continue in competition. 6. A vehicle will be disqualified if ANY door comes open, helmet comes off, seat back breaks, or seat belt breaks during the heat. 7. No one can ride on outside of cars anytime due to insurance regulations. 8. Safety Officials will determine if a car may continue after a fire has been extinguished. A second fire with the same car will result in disqualification. 9. Additional safety regulations may be imposed, depending on track conditions 10. Boundaries must be observed at all times. Any car shoved or driven out of bounds or is on or over a barrier may be immediately disqualified if Derby officials feel it's a SAFETY HAZARD. 11 The Derby will be composed of individual heats and one Feature, with cash prizes going to the winners of each heat and grand prize going to winner of the Feature. Decision of the officials is final. 12. A $100.00 protest fee is required to contest another car. Fee will be refunded if car is found to be ineligible. Protest must be done before drivers meeting. 13 These rules supersede any and all rules previously used. Questions regarding the Rules and Safety Regulations may be addressed by calling JC Butts at 301-674-3999. Interpretation of all rules regarding car build and safety on the Fairgrounds will judged by the Competition Committee which consists of no less than three (3) of the following persons: Rudy Rudd, Scott Brown, Carl Hobbs, JC Butts. The decisions made by the Competition Committee are final. Rules are subject to change without notice according to R & R Productions or the MCAC Entertainment Committee. To Save a car on Friday night, owner must report to Derby Officials in the Entertainment Trailer. All cars must be removed from the fairgrounds or race track following the show (midnight), or they will become the property of MCAC and the officials will have them Removed. NO EXCEPTIONS IF CAR IS LEFT FOR SCRAP, THE TITLE OR INDEMNITY FORM MUST BE SURRENDERED AT REGISTRATION BLANK INDEMNITY FORMS ARE AVAILABLE FROM DERBY OFFICIALS

One night only - Saturday, August 20, 2016 8 cylinder Modified Class Rules 1 st place $1000 2 nd place $800 3 rd place $500 Car build must meet all General Derby Rules Unless Indicated Otherwise Below. Chrysler Imperials are allowed in Modified Class only. General 1. Dual batteries are allowed 2. Batteries must be moved into drivers compartment and securely mounted to the floor and covered. 3. If car has no windshield, minimum ½ sq. opening wire mesh must be put in place 4. If no hood is being run on the car or the hole in the hood extends past the radiator fan the fan must be removed from the motor for safety reasons. 5. Valve stem protectors if used, must be securely welded to the wheel and may be no more then 1-½ long 6. Any dot approved tire (no tractor, skid loader or like tires allowed) Tires must hold air no foam filled or solid tires. Engine & Transmission 1. Must be a V-8 gasoline engine no diesels, turbo s, nitrous, or superchargers. 2. Solid motor mounts allowed 3. Engine halo bars allowed 4. Chaining of the engine allowed 5. Any pump gas allowed (93 Cam2 E85) 6. Distributor halo allowed 7. Radiator must remain in stock location if used 8. Solid transmission mount allowed Body & Frame 1. Hood must have at least a 2 square hole cut in it 2. Hood and deck lid may be bolted down using no larger than 1 all thread 3. Solid body mounts are allowed no more than 4 body mounts may be added over the stock amount. Must be bolted no welding of body to frame. 4. Plating of the frame allowed 5. Tilting of the frame allowed 6. No concrete filled frames 7. Wedging of body in the rear allowed, may weld deck lid if rear has been wedged 8. Welding of door seams allowed 9. Hard nosing allowed 10. Seam welding of frame and body allowed 11. Bumpers MUST be a stock vehicle bumper that extends no further than 2 outside the stock bodylines of the front and rear of the car. Bumpers may be welded to the car. No bracing of the bumper allowed Suspension 1. Leaf spring conversion to rear allowed 2. Rear axle wheels tires installed may not extend more than 1 of the stock bodylines of the car. No duel rear tires 3. Solid tie rods are allowed 4. No solid suspensions will be allowed 5. No wood allowed to be used in the suspension 6. Maximum bumper height for front and rear is 22 measured from the ground to the top of the stock un altered vehicle bumper mounted in stock location

Drivers Compartment 1. Batteries must be covered and secured 2. M&M style metal fuel cell W/ roll over valve allowed. No need to cover. All other tanks must be covered 3. A 4 point roll cage will be allowed as long as it does not extend no more than 2 in front of the lowest point of the A post and no further back than 6 past the B post. It can meet but not exceed the picture below. 4. A functioning lap belt required. Additional driver restraints are optional.
