SuPerchaRger Faq q WHAT IS A CENTRIFUGAL SUPERCHARGER? A A centrifugal supercharger is a type of supercharger that increases airflow into an engine by the use of centrifugal force. The increased airflow created by the supercharger occurs during full throttle conditions while the supercharger system allows the engine to operate as designed from the factory under part throttle conditions. Engine power output and acceleration are dramatically improved under full throttle conditions due to the increased airflow which allows the engine to burn fuel more efficiently. The centrifugal supercharger is driven off the engine's crankshaft via a belt-drive and is attached to the front of the engine with a rigid bracket. q HOW DO CENTRIFUGAL SUPERCHARGERS WORK? A The centrifugal supercharger contains an impeller which spins at high speed to draw air into a small compressor housing. When air leaves the impeller, it is traveling at high-speed while having a low-pressure. This low-pressure, high-speed air is sent through a diffuser which converts the airflow so that it becomes high-pressure and low-speed. The air is then fed into the engine, where the additional airflow (caused by increased pressure) gives the engine the ability to burn more fuel and have a higher level of combustion. This results in a faster, more responsive vehicle due to greater engine efficiency. q WHY IS A CENTRIFUGAL SUPERCHARGER THE BEST WAY TO INCREASE PERFORMANCE? A Because of their high-efficiency design and minimal heat transfer, centrifugal superchargers produce larger power gains. The ability to utilize highly efficient air-to-air intercooling is a further advantage. Overall, centrifugal superchargers are an excellent way to boost engine performance in a reliable and street-legal way. InterioR StylinG 8 The Interior Styling included with every WCC/HSV Jeep Wrangler is highlighted by a Road Wire Custom Leather Interior Seat Trim Package. Road Wire is the world leader in leather interiors using only top-quality material and patented technology designed to enhance comfort and safety. The Seat Trim Package features black leather-trimmed seats with Ultra Suede inserts with stitching to match the body wrap or Line-X finish color of the Jeep. Both front seats have the West Coast Customs logo embroidered into the seat back with the same body color matched stitching. The door grips, grip handle insert and the trim rings for the heater and A/C vents are all painted to match the body wrap or Line-X finish color. The grip handle insert also has the W/HSV Supercharged logos and the vehicle build number machined-in.
