The ACD pumps are used for a number of different fluids: Lubrication oil, fuel oil, vegetable oil, hydraulic oil and other hydraulic fluids, glycols, polymers, emulsions, and any nonaggressive fluid with some lubricating properties. Typical application are: Lubrication of diesel engines, gears, gas Applications Technical data and steam turbines, hydro turbines, paper machines. Circulation for cooling and filtration in large machineries and hydraulic systems, pumping transformer oil for insulation in transformers. Transfer onboard ships, in oil factories, refineries, tank farms etc. Discharge pressure Maximum discharge pressure is 12 bar Differential pressure Maximum differential pressure is 7 bar but is reduced at low viscosities as shown in the table below. The valve is adjustable for different opening pressures. The value of the pressure limit can be set at the factory and should be adjusted at installation (see Installation & Startup instruction for Low pressure pumps). The valve has a pressure accumulation of max. 4 bar, so with moderate demands on pressure modulation, it may also be used for pressure regulation. The valve has a max. set pressure of 7 bar. Drive The pump is designed to be short coupled to an electrical motor IEC size 71. The motor bearing will have to carry a slight axial load from the rotor set. With motors delivered from IMO AB, this load will not significantly impair the bearing life expectancy. Max speed limit The maximum speed is 3600 rpm. For higher speeds contact IMO AB. Rotation The ACD pump is designed to operate in one rotational direction only, as standard clockwise when facing the shaft end. Fluid viscosity 2-1500 mm 2 /s. For higher viscosities contact IMO AB. Pumping temperature -20 C to 90 C for all types of ACD. Sound level A typical sound level from a pump with standard driver is 58 db(a). This value refers to free field conditions at 5 bar, 2940 rpm and 40 cst, measured according to ISO 3741. Standard and recommendation Version NTBP is recommended whenever the starting viscosity might exceed 800 cst. Two pump units can also be mounted to a double assembly on a common frame with inlet and outlet pipe Installation Fig. 7 Electric motor connections.
