And each CTSO is cnsidered as part f CCAR-37. A CTSO Authrizatin (CTSOA) is a CAAC design and prductin apprval issued t a manufacturer f an article that has been fund t meet a specific CTSO. IMA RELATED CERTIFICATION GUIDELINES FAA TSO-C153 2002 RTCA DO-297 2005 CAAC MD-AA-2011-003 2011 CAAC CTSO-C153 (2016) FAA AC 20-145 2003 FAA AC 20-170 2010 CAAC Issue Paper EE-9 2014 DO-297 takes the cncept f incremental acceptance, which divides the acceptance int six certificatin tasks in the certificatin prgram. FAA AC 20-170 recgnizes DO-297 as an acceptable means f cmpliance and prvides explanatins fr IMA certificatin and apprval in accrding with DO-297 as well as TSO-C153. CAAC issued MD-AA-2011-003 and Issue Paper EE-9 t recgnize AC 20-170 and DO-297 as acceptable guidance and means f cmpliance in C919 prgram. MINIMUM PERFORMANCE STANDARD (MPS) CTSO-C153 des nt call ut any industry standards as well as FAA TSO-C153. T btain CTSO-C153 authrizatin, applicants must : Develp and submit an MPS fr each individual hardware element in accrding t the criteria and guidance in Appendix A. Demnstrate the cmpliance t the requirements specified in the MPS. In the MPS, applicants shuld specify : All minimum perfrmance requirements stated in measurable terms. [Table 1, Appendix 1, CTSO-C153 ] Requirements f envirnmental qualificatin tests per RTCA/DO-160D (change 2) [Table 1, Appendix 1, CTSO-C153] Test prcedure t verify that the element perfrms its intended functins bth ver standard cnditins and envirnmental cnditin. When t btain functinal TSO authrizatin with CTSO-C153 authrizatin tgether, the functins which assure that the hardware element crrectly executes the functinal sftware shuld be addressed in the MPS. 16
TEST CONFIGURATION Test cnfiguratin shuld be specified in MPS r the separate test prcedure dcuments. CTSO-C153 prvides the minimum test cnfiguratin requirements f the hardware elements. TEST CONFIGURATION WHEN t use the special purpse test sftware r functinal sftware fr demnstrating the peratin f the hardware element functins, APPLICANTS must verify, validate, and cntrl the cnfiguratin f the sftware t ensure the validity f the testing. WHEN t apply CTSO-C153 authrizatin fr several separate IMA mdules in the meantime, APPLICANTS may elect the apprach f testing the related mdules tgether installed in a cabinet r rack. 18
ENVIRONMENTAL QUALIFICATION TEST (EQT) Applicants shuld perfrm the EQT per the envirnmental cnditins specified in the MPS. Certain D0-160 EQT items are excluded frm CTSO-C153 as specified in Table 2 f Appendix 1, as they can nly be apprpriately perfrmed WITH: The cnfigured IMA system specified fr the applicable aircraft under TC/ STC. The functinal sftware(s) installed and perating. Per Appendix A f AC 20-170, applicants may elect the applicable envirnmental qualificatin tests t meet the requirements f the custmers and expected installatin envirnment. Applicants may use Categry X n any envirnmental test prcedure t indicate that the cmpliance with the MPS has nt been demnstrated under CTSO-C153 tests. 19
