AutoMotion Service Plan The Volkswagen AutoMotion Service Plan does more than cover scheduled vehicle servicing it helps you maintain a competitive resale value for your vehicle. AutoMotion Maintenance Plan The Maintenance Plan not only covers scheduled servicing costs, but also wear and tear items such as wiper blades or brake discs that are traditionally not covered by service plans. What s more, the AutoMotion Maintenance Plan also covers mechanical and electrical faults should they occur within the duration of the plan. Standard AutoMotion Plans A 5-year/90,000km AutoMotion Service Plan is included as standard on Golf 6, Golf 7, Jetta 6, Golf GTI, Golf R, Touran and Scirocco. The AutoMotion Maintenance Plan is included as a standard 5-year/60,000km plan on, Beetle, Tiguan, Kombi and Caravelle. The minimum optional plan that can be purchased is a 5-year/60,000km plan. The maximum plan that can be purchased is a 7-year/200,000km plan. AutoMotion Plan Upgrades Vehicles that come standard with a AutoMotion Service Plan can be upgraded to a minimum 5-year/90,000km maintenance plan up to a maximum 7-year/200,000km maintenance plan (from the original date of delivery). Maintenance Plan Extensions Volkswagen AutoMotion Plan offers 3 types of Maintenance Plan Extensions: Kilometre Extension These extensions are available in intervals of 30,000km, to a maximum of 200,000km. If the vehicle has an active Maintenance Plan, the owner has the choice of purchasing either a service or maintenance plan extension. If, however, the vehicle has an active Service Plan, the owner can only purchase Service Plan extensions. The 5 year/100,000km standard maintenance plan could have an initial and final kilometre extension of 20,000km, with 30,000km intervals in between, and is available until 200,000km. Service Plan Extensions Volkswagen AutoMotion Service Plan only offers kilometre Service Plan extensions. The maximum extendable kilometres is to 195,000km. Time Extension These extensions are sold as either 12-month or 24-month intervals up to a maximum of 7 years from the original date of delivery. Combination (Kilometre and Time) Extension This is a combination of kilometre and time extensions, e.g. 1 year/30,000km, 2 years/60,000km, etc.
Alert Roadside Assistance. The Volkswagen Alert and Alert Plus programmes provide a countrywide roadside assistance service 24 hours a day, every day of the year through Volkswagen South Africa and its Dealer Network. Do I qualify? Volkswagen owners whose vehicles were purchased as brand new after 1 May 2006 qualify for Volkswagen Alert benefits. The cover continues throughout the warranty period of three years or 120,000km, whichever occurs first. Owners of the Touareg, Passat, Volkswagen CC, R32, Kombi/Caravelle and Sharan ranges (purchased as brand new after 1 May 2006) qualify for Volkswagen s premium Alert Plus programme. The cover continues for five years or 120 000km, whichever occurs first. Should a maintenance plan (Optional, Upgrade or Extension) be purchased, the Volkswagen Alert or Alert Plus benefits will be extended along with the greater of the warranty or maintenance plan value.
What does it cover? If you require roadside assistance as a result of a mechanical or electrical breakdown, all you have to do is contact Volkswagen Alert on 0860 434 737 (in South Africa) or +27 41 994 5615 (for neighbouring states: Swaziland, Lesotho, Namibia or Botswana) and inform the Volkswagen Alert representative about the situation at hand. Your vehicle model and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)/Chassis number will be required. This can be found on the passenger side of your vehicle s dashboard and can be seen from outside the vehicle through the window. If you have a breakdown within 100km of your normal place of residence, and the vehicle cannot be repaired at the point of the breakdown to render it mobile, Volkswagen Alert provides courtesy transport for one address within 100km of the breakdown and will pay for the vehicle to be collected and repaired at the Volkswagen Dealership located closest to where the breakdown occurred. When the breakdown has occurred further than 100km from your place of residence, Volkswagen Alert will arrange and pay to collect your vehicle and return it to your closest Volkswagen Dealer after it has been repaired. Volkswagen Alert will also arrange and pay for the safe storage of your vehicle, should the breakdown occur outside of Dealer operating hours. In which case as the vehicle owner, you have the option of either having Volkswagen Alert pay for hotel accommodation or for a car rental.
