Installing your DRL Grille Kit. Step 1) Test fit one of your DRL modules to your grille. The grill lights are mirror images of each other so make sure you test fit the correct light for each side. Step 2) Once you have test fit each light to your grille, it is now time to drill your hole to route your wire through. The red arrow below is the location where you will drill your hole.
Step 3) One your hole has been drilled, it is time to now pass your wire through the hole. Note* If you are performing this installation with your grille still on the vehicle, you will have to remove the plastic radiator support cover. This will allow you to get to your wire and run it into the engine bay for further wiring.
Step 4) Once your wires have been routed through the hole it is now time to mount your lights. There is double sided foam tape located on the back of each DRL light. Remove the protective film from the back of light and press the ring firmly into place. Make sure your grille is clear and free from any dirt or cleaners so the light will make a good bond. Note* In order to secure your lights even stronger, Flashtech recommends adding some 5 minute 2 part epoxy. This can be done after the lights have already been installed. Using a small screwdriver or mixing stick, add some epoxy to the back of the light where it meets the grille. The white arrows below show some suggested areas where epoxy can be placed on the back of the lights. A picture of sample 2 part epoxy is also below but any brand will work.
Warning! The supplied LED DRIVER must be connected any time your grille lights are connected to your controller. If the lights are ever wired directly to your controller without the driver installed this will destroy the LED s and void your warranty! Wiring your DRL Grille Kit: Summary Flashtech RGB ColorFuse DRL Grille lights use the most advanced LED Technology. They have a wide array of installation methods, and can be modified in the future without having to re-buy new lights. Your kit will come with LED rings and LED Drivers. Instead of having everything built into the lights themselves, Flashtech has designed a waterproof external driver, which can be mounted in an easy to access area. If a failure occurs, a simple replacement of the driver will fix the problem rather than having to replace the light! WIRING Wiring your ColorFuse Drl s is easy with our plug and play connectors. One led driver is provided for each LED DRL light. The Led DRL is plugged directly into the female plug of your driver. The male end of your driver is your output and can be plugged into one of our supplied Fusion color changing remotes Wiring to the supplied 24 key IR remote 1) All Flashtech ColorFuse Drl Grille kits come with a basic IR 24 key wireless remote. The end of the drivers plug directly into the plugs on the end of the controller. Make sure the black wire on the led driver plug matches the white arrow on the supplied controller.
2) Make sure that the led halos themselves are NOT connected to the RGB controller directly. They will burn out immediately if the supplied driver is not used! gl3) How to connect the wires?ether elow: If everything is plugged up correctly and the lights are not working properly (not responding to remote and such), simply flip the plug from the driver to the controller 180 degrees, or switch around the wiring that connects to the power source. 3) How to power up 24 key IR Remote Supplied with the RGB controller is a small plug with a black and red wire. This is your power wire and can be connected to any 12v power source to activate your halos. We recommend hooking it up to your vehicle's car battery. Make sure that a 5 amp fuse (not supplied) is run in line with your power wire if connected directly to a 12v power source such as your battery. RED is Power and Black is Ground. DO NOT tap the module to the stock high beam daytime running light since it is not full 12vnection, pl t Always put the module box behind the passenger side headlight lamp and connect the module box ( 4) Your RGB controller is a wireless IR controller and works like a TV remote. You must aim the controller to wards the black IR reader. In order for this to work we recommend mounting the controller either in the grill of your vehicle or above one side of the headlight with the IR receiver between the fender and hood. The example below shows this method. hood is closed.
5) Remote control does not work? There may be a thin and clear plastic tab inserted into the controller to protect the battery from draining during shipping. Before your first use, please remove it. Press ON to turn on the LED Rings, then you can use the color buttons to change the colors. Your setup is complete!
