How Let me tell you a bit about a running joke among our family. Anytime we travel with the Miller s (Jim & Mindy) and someone needs something, Mindy has it. She always carries her magic bag. Whatever you need, she s got it in there. It s almost like the magician s hat, but without the doves and rabbits. It s more like a Walgreen s in there, what with the pharmaceuticals, firsttems, snacks, health & beauty items, greeting cards and magazines. I, for one, have been saved more than once by the magic bag. It s bottomless, I swear! The lesson to be learned here, of course, is Volume 26 Issue 4 April 2015 to be prepared! 2 Volume 26 issue 4 2016 Mazda MX-5 Club Debuts MotorAuthority April 2, 2015 By Viknesh Vijayenthiran Mazda s all-new, fourth-generation MX-5 Miata hasn t even reached showrooms yet, but already the Japanese automaker is expanding the lineup with a new variant. That variant is called the MX-5 Club, and it s making its world debut this week at the 2015 New York Auto Show. The car is essentially a production version of the MX-5 Accessories concept unveiled at February s Chicago Auto Show, and Mazda describes it as the most aggressive iteration of the latest MX-5. Mazda also says the MX-5 Club harks back to the early lightweight sports cars that inspired the original MX-5, albeit in a thoroughly modern and sophisticated form. transmission (2,381 lbs with the auto) that s 150 lbs less than the already lithe thirdgeneration model. The 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata and new MX-5 Club will be going on sale this summer. Pricing for the new MX-5 Miata was recently confirmed to start at $25,735, which includes the $820 destination charge. Key features include custom 17-inch alloys wrapped in 205/45 size tires, a front air dam, a rear lip spoiler, Mazda Connect infotainment, HD and SiriusXM Satellite Radio, two USB ports, piano black side mirrors and seatback bars, and a ninespeaker Bose audio system with headrest speakers. Those opting for a manualequipped MX-5 Club also get a limited-slip differential, Bilstein shocks and new tower braces. For enhanced performance, the MX-5 Club can also be packaged with BBS 17-inch forged wheels, Brembo front brakes, and functional aerodynamic side sill extensions and rear bumper skirt borrowed from the MX-5 Global Cup race car. Unfortunately, there s no extra power on hand. Mazda has confirmed that all MX-5s in the U.S., including the new MX-5 Club, will stick with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine delivering 155 horsepower and 148 poundfeet of torque. That might not sound like much but recall that the fourth-generation MX-5 only weighs 2,332 lbs with its manual DOTM Flanagans NW corner of Clark State Road and 605 605 aka Reynoldsburg New Albany Road April 21, 2015 6:30pm Chris Riner/Ron Lester Rsvp by the 20 th Criner@columbus.rr.com 614-638-6620 Burgers, subs, pizza Email to remind everyone!

7 Volume 26 issue 4 SATURDAY, MAY 23, 2015 Eric s Riverrun is a ~250 mile, all-day driving tour using some of Ohio s most interesting and challenging roads. This year we ll head east towards Zanesville, then south to the Stockport locks, then to Marietta (a good place for lunch). From Marietta, we ll head east on SR26, north onto SR260 to some other very fun roads for a finish at Tom s Ice Cream Bowl in Zanesville. Cars leave Bob Evans at I-70 and Rt. 256 in Pickerington between 8 and 9 am. We should be at the Ohio River around Noon and finish by 6 pm., depending on the time spent sightseeing. There is no fixed schedule nor any assigned speeds, other than posted speed limits. This is a tour rather than a rally. The route includes a mix of open and flowing paved roads that connect tight and twisty sections. Check out the roads at: http://tinyurl.com/riverrun15 Contact Susan Logan at slogan.osu@gmail.com or (740) 363-2203 after April 1st for more details and to reserve your spot. There is a $10 entry fee to cover organizational expenses. Magnets will be available for an additional $10 while they last. All profit will be donated in Eric Jones memory to The James Cancer Hospital for Mesothelioma Research Fund. The North American MGB Register, the Buckeye Miata Club, and the Central Ohio British Car Club Council invite all driving enthusiasts, regardless of vehicle make, model, or type, to join us on Eric s Riverrun 2015.
