ELECTRONIC TRAFFIC AVOIANCE PRES PLEASE REA THOROUGHLY THESE PRES BEFORE THE INSTALLATION Be sure to disconnect the negative (-) lead from the battery terminals. Confirm that lamps, horn, wiper and other car accessories operate normally. o not pinch the rear wiring or harness in the tightened part. Protect your car using wing covers, seat and so on. When passing the wires through the bulkhead or other panels, use a grommet to ensure waterproofing. Protect the wiring using tape when it is passed through a hole. Use the correct tool when tightening bolts or nuts. waterproof - O.K.!! Grommet Taping When disconnecting the connectors, be sure to grip the connector body. o not tug on the wiring. Before drilling a hole, check that the rear of the mounting wall is clear. Stop it! Be sure to firmly tighten connectors and terminals. o not forcibly pull any car wiring harness. Rough tugging may result in opened connections, or a broken wire or harness. Insert completely Before connecting the power wiring to the battery, check the wiring connections, harness, etc. to see that they are properly secured. If not yet insulated, do so with the complete ground wire of the RS-antenna wire by wrapping it into tape 2. 2 Fig. 8 2 2. Before routing the RS-antenna wire, protect the RS-antenna black wired pin and the RS-antenna connector by wrapping it into tape 2. Fig. 9 3 5 (*) 3. a) Tuck the RS-antenna wire through the space between the roof headliner and windshield. b) Route and attach the RS-antenna wire along the vehicle wire harness 3 using wire ties 5 (3x) (*) and tape 2 (2x) (*). ELECTRONIC TRAFFIC AVOIANCE INSTALLATION OF THE RS-ANTENNA STRIP For vehicles without prewired ETA-antenna Centre 70 mm 20 mm Coated area Fig. 4 6. a) Thoroughly clean the mounting surface of the front window to which the antenna strip 6 is to be affixed. b) Remove the release paper of the antenna strip 6. c) Attach the antenna strip 6 to the front window as shown. Ensure that the antenna strip 6 is attached horizontally. ONLY FOR VEHICLES WITH RAIN SENSOR 6 Ensure that the top of the antenna is pushed against the body of the roof. 2. Peel off the release paper at the back of the RS-antenna and attach it to the coated area of the antenna strip 6 as shown. ELECTRONIC TRAFFIC AVOIANCE Turn 4. a) Connect the RS-antenna connector to the fakra connector 5 as shown. 5 Be careful not to close the fakra connector 5 before the RS-antenna connector is inserted till it clicks. b) Insert the fakra connector 5 with antenna to the RS-tuner. 5 Fig. 20 d 5. ELECTRONIC TRAFFIC AVOIANCE For vehicles with prewired ETA-antenna c f 9. a) Release the navigation ECU 9 from the vehicle. b) Fit the RS-tuner to the ETAbracket 7 using the bolts c. c : Bolt (M5x8) (2x) c) Fit the RS-tuner between the cross member and the navigation ECU as shown.
