Well-lit. Clean and uncluttered. Free of flammable gasses or liquids. Before Operating Before using any tool, any part that appears damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Before operating your Submersible Mini Pump, check for damaged parts. Make certain that the power is OFF before plugging the tool in. Use grounded receptacle only for 120 Volt hook-up. Make certain to turn off and unplug the Pump when doing any maintenance. The tool should always be turned off and unplugged when not in use. Avoid contact with the pump once it is submerged. Do not touch the water once pump is submerged. If an electrical problem occurs, contact may result in serious harm or injury. Note: Performance of this tool may vary depending on variations in local line voltage. Never use an extension cord to power this unit. Grounding/Voltage Warning Common household current is 110-120 volts. As long as the outlet used with the tool is rated from 110-120V there will be no complications using it with household receptacles. Plug the tool into a 110-120V properly grounded outlet protected by a 15-amp, dual element time delay or circuit breaker. NEVER try to plug a 110-120V tool into a 220-240V circuit or serious complications and possible injury to the operator may occur. The plugs have different shapes to prevent this. This tool has a three-prong plug. The third (round) prong is the ground. Cutting off the ground will result in a safety hazard and void the warranty. If the outlet you are planning to use is the two-prong type, do not remove or alter the grounding prong in any manner. Use an adapter and always connect the grounding plug to a known grounding source. It is recommended that you have a qualified electrician replace the two-prong outlet with a properly grounded three- prong outlet. Do NOT m o d i f y y o u r p l u g in a n y w a y. Assembly Your Submersible Mini Pump is fully assembled, although the hose will need to be connected prior to operation. For assistance with operation and set up, please refer to the Assembly Diagram and Parts List located on pages 5 and 6 of this manual. Operation Never force the tool or attachment to do the work of a larger industrial tool. It is designed to do the job better and more safely at the rate for which it was intended. Before adjustments are made, ensure that the Pump is SWITCHED OFF AND UNPLUGGED. Also make sure all connections are secure once adjustments are complete. Note: Do not run pump dry; damage may occur. Do not use the pump for abrasive liquids. Use the pump for clean water only. Set the pump up in a well ventilated area. If the temperature is to drop below freezing, drain the pump completely and discontinue use until the temperature is above the freezing level. The Pump is fully lubricated and does not require the addition of any oil or lubrication. Step 1) Step 2) Step 3) Make certain to place the intake well below the top level of the liquid to be pumped. Set the pump up on a level spot. The four (4) suction cup feet (part #3) must all be touching the surface. The weight of the pump must be adequately supported. Do not support the pump by the hose or discharge connection. The flow rate on the pump can be adjusted by rotating the Control dial (part # 1) located on the front of the pump. Turning the Control dial counterclockwise will increase flow. Turning the dial clockwise will decrease flow. After Operation-Maintenance Cleaning Step 1) Step 2) Note: Step 3) Remove the Front Cover (part #2) by sliding it up and off of the unit. If the Impeller (part #5) requires cleaning, remove the Front Cover (part #2) as in Step 1 and the Lock (part #4). Use a small brush to clean any corrosion or debris from the impeller, the shaft and the surrounding surfaces. The Impeller Shaft is pressed into the pump housing. Do not attempt to remove the shaft. Reassemble the parts in reverse order. REV 08j Page 4
