Examples: Radio, A/C, DVD or any aftermarket components. Be sure the component does not need more than 30 amps to run. Before connecting the ignition 2 wire to power up additional circuits please verify that the turbo timer is functioning correctly. If you connect this wire to a circuit that feeds back to the key on wire the timer will not function correctly. Key-on Wire The purple key-on wire on the Striker turbo timer harness should be connected to the appropriate wire coming from the ignition switch connector listed in the chart on page 3. This is the wire the module references to see a key-on or key-off event. Use one of the supplied wire taps to connect this wire. 4
Ground Wire The grey ground wire should be connected to a grounding point. To the right of the steering column there is a metal support bracket with a harness ground already installed. Using the supplied ring terminal, this ground wire can be connected here. GEM (Generic Electric Module) NOTE: After making all connections listed above try out the timer first and make sure it times out correctly before making this modification. Some 2001 pickups and excursions will need the generic electric module powered up to ensure the keyless entry system works when you return to the vehicle after the timer has timed out. Only make this modification if the keyless entry system does not work after the timer has timed out. At the ignition switch there is a Black/Lt.Green wire. Using the supplied wire tap, connect this Black/Lt.Green wire to the Ignition 2 Green wire on the Striker turbo timer harness. The keyless entry system should now work properly on return to the vehicle after the timer has timed out. Ignition 2 Wire The green ignition 2 wire can be used to power up any other accessory you desire to have power while the timer is timing out. Examples: Radio, A/C, DVD or any aftermarket components. Be sure the component does not need more than 30 amps to run. On 04.5 Dodge trucks the cooling fan/waste-gate circuit needs to be powered by the ignition 2 wire. This cooling fan/waste-gate circuit wire is a 16 gauge Pink/Yellow wire in the ignition switch wire bundle. Looking at the wire bundle it should be the smallest Pink/Yellow wire there. Looking at the ignition switch connector this wire is in pin 9. The Dodge 06-07 needs to have the lift pump powered by the "Ignition 2 wire" or the lift pump will shut off during time out and cause the truck to stall on lack of fuel. When this happens starting the truck can be difficult until the fuel system re-primes itself. In order to power the lift fuel pump you will need to locate the Integrated Power Module at the driver s side engine compartment. Remove the Integrated Power Module from the inner fender well. Locate connector C10 on the back of the Integrated Power Module. Pin 18 in connector C10 is the lift fuel pump power wire. Splice ignition 2 wire from the turbo timer onto this wire. See diagram below. Key-on Wire The purple key-on wire on the Striker turbo timer harness should be connected to the appropriate wire coming from the ignition switch connector listed in the chart on page 7. This is the wire the module references to see a key-on or key-off event. Use one of the supplied wire taps to connect this wire. 9
Ground Wire The grey ground wire should be connected to a grounding point. To the left of the steering column there is a metal support bracket with a bolt already installed. Using the supplied ring terminal, this ground wire can be connected here. All vehicles Finalizing Installation Mount the relay bases and the fuse holders where you see fit. Use the supplied self tap screws to do this. Insert the supplied two relays into the relay bases and the supplied two fuses into the fuse holders. Use the tie-wraps to secure the harness wires up and out of the way of the brake, accelerator and clutch pedals and any moving parts of the steering column. Plug the timer module into the harness. Turn the key on and check to see the green LED on the module is lit. Select the time you desire according to the paragraph below. Start the truck and then turn the key off. The vehicle will stay running the selected amount of minutes and then shut off. If the vehicle does not shut off after the time out time selected, unplug the timer from the harness. The vehicle will shut off. Double check your connections. Plug the module back into the harness. Using a volt meter check to see the purple key-on wire of the timer harness has power with the key on and looses power with the key off. If it does not loose power when the ignition key is cycled off, this is either not the correct key-on wire or the ignition 1 or ignition 2 wires are tapped to a circuit that powers it during the time out period. To solve this use a volt meter to find a wire with 12 volts only when the ignition key is on. You may use the supplied fuse tap to connect the key-on purple wire to the fuse block. Striker turbo timer Functions Four LED indicators are present on the front of the turbo timer. Looking at the module from left to right the LED indicators are: 1. Power LED (Green) 2. Timer State LED (Red) 3. Brake Kill and Minute Indicator LED (Yellow) 4. Switch/Accessory Relay Status LED (Red) The Striker turbo timer features seven different time out times. With the key on or engine running use the button on the front of the turbo timer to cycle through the times. At each press and release of the button the yellow minute indicator LED will blink the same amount of times as minutes selected. The times are in minutes and cycle as follows: 0-1-2-3-4-5 and then back to zero. For the 55 minute timer press and hold the button for 2-3 seconds and then release. The timer state LED will stay on or blink rapidly. This 55 minute timer will cycle only once at the key-off event and then at the subsequent key-on event it will default to the last known timer setting.
