The Terberg YT / RT-TT xx2 is not having onboard diagnose, therefore best alternative is the available diagnose tools from these component suppliers. For the RT-TT xx3 tractor, an On Board Diagnostic system has been developed. Further details can be found at chapter Terberg Diagnostics RT-TTxx3 Mercedes electronic engines For the Mercedes engine diagnose tools are necessary since the engine doesn t have any possibilities to show fault codes in any other manner. For the industrial engines the Minidiag 2 is the optimum tool for diagnose. The Mercedes truck dealer can use Star Diagnose, but this gives a limited access to the parameters of industrial engines. See the engine service manual for more information. Volvo Penta diagnose tool is the Vodia tool. Vodia Hand held tool, enables to enter the engine ECU and to download data. The tool needs to make contact with the Volvo Penta database for each access of the ECU via the Volvo Penta Partner Network on internet. For the above reason, this tool is only available via a co-operative Volvo Penta dealer. ZF electronic transmissions For the Terberg product this includes the WG Ergopower range and the AS-tronic. For the WG Ergopower active fault codes can be displayed in the transmission display, while the AS-tronic also shows the in-active faults via transmission display. The Dearborn DPA4 ( + ) USB can also be used as an alternative adapter for the diagnose program of Cummins electronic engines. Terberg diagnostics RT-TT-xx3 On Board Diagnostics: The 3rd generation RT is standard equipped with On-Board-Diagnostics. This system allows the service-engineer to read out fault codes of the electrical system. The service technician can access the diagnostics menu via the Driver Information Module (DIM) by using a password. This system allows the service-technician to find indications of technical failures. The fault codes that can be set are related to: 1. Terberg electrical CAN system; 2. Engine; 3. Transmission; Active fault codes present in the Terberg electrical CAN system will be automatically erased, after they have been rectified. Fault codes present in the saved list can be erased. Fault codes stored in the engine or transmission ECU s can only be erased with the diagnostic tools of the supplier of these components, as described in previous pages. Fault tracing Besides showing fault codes, the DIM is also capable of supporting fault tracing by showing input and output signal information. To support fault tracing actively, outputs can also be activated via the DIM by the service technician. To access the different diagnostic menu s the DIM requires passwords.
23-06-10 99 02/GB 6/6 Parameter settings: The DIM can also be used as interface to change certain parameters. To access the different adjustable parameters, the DIM requires passwords. There are basically 3 different levels of parameters: 1. Development parameters: these are defined and frozen in software and depending on the specification of the tractor and are not accessible. 2. Adjustable parameters: these are accessible via passwords by Terberg Distributors or Terberg Service Technicians. 3. Service parameters: these are freely adjustable when the diagnostic menu is accessed. The full functionality of the DIM, as tool for servicing and diagnostics is described in: TD 1474 Display User Manual. Important note: The passwords are only to be used by trained service-technicians. Passwords for the Adjust-parameters can only be obtained from Terberg Benschop after successfully fulfilling a dedicated training and signing a liability & warranty agreement with Terberg Benschop. Terberg Benschop can not be held liable for any effect caused by any adjustments made in the parameter settings. Software download: Programming of a controller of the electrical system can be required in case of: 1. exchange of controller; 2. change in specifications. Programming of controllers does require basic knowledge of the programming tools and programming process. Programming is only allowed to be performed by trained Terberg Service Technicians or Distributor Service Technicians. The required tools for programming the Terberg controllers, CC DRC and DIM can be ordered at Terberg: part number t30071139 Diagnose Bodas. Important note: Every CC controller does have unique software therefore Terberg Benschop needs to be contacted to supply the proper SW for the specific tractor (built order) and installed controller.
