WARNING: IMPORTANT: NEVER attempt any work without shutting off the electricity. Go to the main fuse box, or circuit breaker, in your home. Place the main power switch in the OFF position and unscrew the fuses(s), or switch OFF the circuit breaker switch(es), that control the power to the fixture or room that you are working on. Place the wall switch in the "OFF" position. If the fixture to be replaced has a switch or pull chain, place it in the "OFF" position. Do not use bulbs with wattage greater than specified on this fixture. CAUTION: Read and understand all instructions and illustrations completely before proceeding with assembly and installation of this fixture. If you have any doubts about how to install this lighting fixture, or if the fixture fails to operate completely, please contact a qualified licensed electrical contractor. All parts must be used as indicated in these instructions. Do not substitute any parts, leave parts out, or use any parts that are worn out or broken. Failure to obey this instruction could invalidate the ETL listing and/or C.S.A. certification of this fixture. PREPARATION Before beginning assembly of product, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with package contents list and diagram. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble the product. Contact customer service for replacement parts. Estimated assembly time: 30 minutes to 1 hour. Tools Required for Assembly (not included): Phillips screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, wire strippers, electrical tape, ladder, safety glasses, silicone caulk, caulking gun. 3
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 1. Supply wire connection guide: Make wire connections, securing with wire connectors (AA), following the reference chart listed below. CONNECT, HOT, BLACK OR RED OUTLET SUPPLY WIRE TO: Black * Parallel Cord (round & smooth) Clear, Brown, Gold or Black without Tracer (colored stripes) Insulated Wire (not green) with copper metal conductor. CONNECT, NEUTRAL, WHITE OUTLET SUPPLY WIRE TO: White * Parallel Cord (square & ridged) Clear, Brown, Gold or Black with Tracer (colored stripes) Insulated Wire (not green) with Silver metal conductor. *NOTE: When parallel wire (SPT I & SPT II) is used. The neutral wire is square shaped and ridged and the hot wire will be round in shape and smooth. 1 Hardware Used BB Wire Connectors 1A x 3 2. CARE AND MAINTENANCE Always be certain that electric current is turned off before cleaning this item. Use a soft, moist cloth with mild non-abrasive soap to clean fixture. Never use glass cleaner on fixture, as it will damage the metal finish. All glass shades may be washed in a towel-lined sink with warm water and mild soap. Do not wash shades in an automatic dishwasher. TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION Fixture does not light. 1. Fixture may be wired incorrectly. 1. Check wiring. 2. WARRANTY PATRIOT LIGHTING 356-4894 WARRANTY 5-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY: This PATRIOT LIGHTING brand light fixture carries a five (5) Year Limited Warranty to the original purchaser. If, during normal use, this PATRIOT LIGHTING light fixture fails due to a defect in material and workmanship within five (5) years from the date of purchase, simply bring this light fixture with your original sales receipt back to your nearest MENARDS retail store. At its discretion, PATRIOT LIGHTING agrees to have the lighting fixture replaced with the same or similar PATRIOT LIGHTING product free of charge, within the stated warranty period, when returned by the original purchaser with original sales receipt. Notwithstanding the foregoing, this limited warranty does not cover damage or failure caused by misuse or abuse including but not limited to improper installation, accident, unauthorized repair, maintenance, or modifications of the merchandise. This warranty: (1) excludes expendable parts including but not limited to light bulbs, batteries; (2) carries a 2-year finish warranty protecting finish against tarnishing, flaking, and discoloration; (3) shall be void if this lighting fixture is not installed in the U.S.A; (4) does not cover products installed within three miles of saltwater coastline or any area prone to salt spray; and (5) does not cover any losses, labor, injuries to persons/property or costs. This warranty does give you specific legal rights and you may have other rights, which vary from state to state. Be careful, it is recommended that installation be done by a qualified professional; the purchaser has sole responsibility for proper installation in compliance with all state and local code requirements. Seller s employees are not qualified to advise you on the use of this Merchandise. Any oral representation(s) made will not be binding on seller or its employees. The rights under this limited warranty are to the original purchaser of the Merchandise and may not be transferred to any subsequent owner. This limited warranty is in lieu of all warranties, expressed or implied including warranties or merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
