Ducati TriOptions Cup The Ducati TriOptions Cup continues to feature at MCE British Superbike Championship events this year, with an outline agreement between Ducati UK and series organisers MSVR to extend the partnership into 2016. The agreement strengthens the presence of the iconic Ducati brand in the MCE BSB programme as the one-make cup continues to grow. The 2014 season featured the introduction of the highly-anticipated 899 Panigale, which encouraged growth in the series with an average of 25 riders featuring at the country s premier circuits including Brands Hatch, Donington Park, and Silverstone. The championship goes down to the wire between Leon Morris and Dennis Hobbs at the final round at Silverstone, with Hobbs taking the Championship. Ducati UK managing Director Tim Maccabee said I am pleased that we have continued our commitment to BSB through the Ducati TriOptons Cup. The series has been a fantastic success following on from the 848 Challenge and has been the perfect stage for the 899 to show its attributes on the track. Racing is part of our Ducati s DNA and we will continue to develop and expand our presence within the British Superbike paddock.
Race Team Structure Managing Director Tony Dawson has been involved in racing for over 25 years mainly with Ducati machinery. Tony Dawson I raced with some success in the Battle of the Twins series way back. We have always had an interest in racing for competitive fun and latterly for marketing the brand and the business. Having supported a number of riders over the years we have decided to expand our racing commitments over the next three years. The focus of the team in 2016 will be on the Ducati TriOptions Cup. Tony Dawson "We are looking to bring talented young riders through from the lower level to BSB British Championship and European level. In the first instance we would like to assist another young rider to partner Louis Dawson in the TriOptions Cup Championship. Louis Dawson with the 2015 model 899 Ducati Panigale Race machine. In addition to running riders in the TriOptions Cup, the team is considering an option of running an 1199 Panigale in the British Superbike Stock 1000 series in 2017. From a team development perspective, Tony Dawson has brought in John Davies of JDF Rider Development. Tony Dawson We have known John for a number of years. His ability to get the best out of young riders is phenomenal. Using his experience as a former rider and motivational techniques he can develop a rider to a high standard quickly. His track record is second to none. John manages riders at a number of levels including BSB and European level, he also has proven management and organisational skills which will help with team development.
