Toilet. Drain line. Water supply line IMPORTANT: All plumbing and electrical wiring should be installed in accordance with applicable codes and regulations. The use of water hammer arrestors is strongly recommended for commercial applications. All piping behind the walls should be properly secured and fastened. Water supply lines must be sized to provide an adequate volume of water for each fixture. The American Standard hard-wired AC Transformer must be used. Flush all water lines prior to operation. Dirt and debris can cause flush valve to run continuously. With the exception of Stop Valve Inlet, DO T use pipe sealant or plumbing grease on any valve component or coupling! Protect the chrome or special finish on the Flushometer. DO T USE toothed tools on finished surfaces to install or service these valves. Also see Care and Cleaning section of this manual. This product contains mechanical and/or electrical components that are subject to normal wear. These components should be checked on a regular basis and replaced as needed to maintain the valve s performance. M966 EN REV.. (9/)

FLUSH VALVE INSTALLATION Fig. INSTALL SWEAT ADAPTER; Fig. FINISHED WALL A CENTER LINE OF FIXTURE SPUD CAUTION Turn water supplies off before beginning Note: Install Optional Sweat Adapter (Supplied) for copper pipe supply line.. Measure the distance (A) from the finished wall to the center of the inlet spud on the fixture. (A-B)= C FILE EDGES B mm (-/"). Cut the supply pipe -/" (A-B=C) shorter than the measurement taken in Step. File any rough edges off the end of the supply pipe. CLEAN ADAPTER. Clean the end of the supply pipe. Push the threaded Adapter until it is seated against the internal stop. Sweat the Adapter to the pipe. SOLDER ADAPTER INSTALL COVER TUBE, WALL ESCUTCHEON and STOP VALVE; Fig.. Measure from finished wall to first thread of Adapter or threaded supply pipe (dimension X ). Cut COVER TUBE () to length (X). Apply Teflon Tape to the threaded end of the Adapter or supply pipe.. Push WALL ESCUTCHEON () onto the COVER TUBE (). Slide both onto the SUPPLY PIPE ().. Push the COVER TUBE () in to expose the threads of the supply pipe. With a wrench, thread the STOP VALVE () onto the SUPPLY PIPE (). Align and tighten.. Pull COVER TUBE () against STOP VALVE () and push WALL ESCUTCHEON () against finished wall. Place FRICTION WASHER () and SEAL WASHER () inside SPUD COUPLING NUT () and thread onto Spud. Do not tighten fully.. Insert the VACUUM BREAKER TUBE () into the SPUD COUPLING NUT () and push it down. Note: If cutting VACUUM BREAKER TUBE () to size, note that Critical Line (C/L) on Vacuum Breaker must typically be 6" (mm) above fixture. Consult Code for details. -/" TOP SPUD M966 EN REV.. (9/)

FLUSH OUT SUPPLY LINES; Fig. 6. Remove STOP VALVE COVER () from STOP VALVE ().. Open STOP VALVE () with a flat blade screwdriver.. Turn on water supply to flush line of any debris or sediment.. Close STOP VALVE () and replace STOP VALVE COVER (). Fig. 6 REMOVE COVER COUNTER-CLOCKWISE OPENS STOP VALVE LEFT OR RIGHT HAND INSTALLATION; Fig. 7 CLOCKWISE CLOSES STOP VALVE The unit is shipped with the adjustable tailpiece on the right side. If needed, the orientation can be modified by following the steps below.. Loosen SET SCREW () with.mm Hex Wrench () in back of FLUSH VALVE COVER (). Fig. 7. Rotate FLUSH VALVE COVER () to the right and lift off.. Rotate FLUSH VALVE BODY () 80. Replace COVER () and rotate until key engages. Tighten SET SCREW (). 6 INSTALL FLUSH VALVE; Fig. 8, 8a. Insert ADJUSTABLE TAILPIECE () into the STOP VALVE (). Lubricate the O-RING () with water if necessary. Lightly tighten COUPLING NUT (). Fig. 8. 80 KEY Important: Do not use lubricants (other than water) or any type of thread sealing paste or tape.. Align the FLUSH VALVE BODY () directly above the VACUUM BREAKER TUBE (7) and VACUUM BREAKER COUPLING NUT (6). Fig. 8a. Note: There is a +mm, -6mm (+/, -/) tolerance for the mm (-/) dimension.. Pull the VACUUM BREAKER TUBE (7) up to meet the threaded FLUSH VALVE BODY (), hand tighten the VACUUM BREAKER COUPLING NUT (6). Align all components of the flush valve assembly. Fig. 8a.. Lightly tighten the COUPLING NUT () connection first, then the VACUUM BREAKER COUPLING NUT (6) and finally the SPUD COUPLING NUT (8). ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION 7 INSTALL ELECTRICAL BOX (T SUPPLIED); Fig. 9 FOR FRONT INSTALLATION (with cover plate) Note: The ELECTRICAL BOX () can be installed in any location along the marked arc. Cut a 0 x 0 mm (-/8" x -/8") opening in finished wall for ELECTRICAL BOX () (not supplied) and follow installation template provided in box. Fig.9 (TOP SPUD FIXTURE ILLUSTRATED) 0mm (" MAX.) (mm) " DIA. HOLE FOR CONDUIT 8mm (-/8") 86mm (-/8") SUPPLY (" NPT) Hubbel-RACO #6 OR EQUAL (BY CONTRACTOR). Hubbel-RACO 779 OR EQUAL (BY CONTRACTOR). REMOTE INSTALLATION OF ELECTRICAL BOX (without cover plate) -/" TOP SPUD SMALL END Mount a " x " x -/" (0 x 0 x 89 mm), ELECTRICAL BOX () (not supplied) within 0' from the installed flush valve. See Fig.. 8 INSTALL POWER SUPPLY AND MAKE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS; Fig. 0, 0a Fig.0 CAUTION Ensure that the line power to bathroom is OFF prior to making connections. BLACK & WHITE POWER CONNECTIONS. Mount POWER SUPPLY () into ELECTRICAL BOX (). Connect White and Black power connections to POWER SUPPLY (). Fig. 0.. Connect AC TRANSFORMER () to the single terminal of the Y-ADAPTER (). Fig. 0. CONNECTOR T USED IN THIS INSTALLATION (" NPT). Connect the 7" EXTENSION CABLE () from the flush valve cover to one of the two available terminals of Y-ADAPTER (). Fig. 0. If ELECTRICAL BOX () is installed remotely, then connect the 0' EXTENSION CABLE (sold seperately) to the 7" EXTENSION CABLE () from the flush valve cover and secure this connection by installing into CONNECTOR HOUSING () as shown in Fig.. Fig.0a SLOT SLOT 6 8a COVER PLATE FRAME AND COVER PLATE INSTALLATION (front installation only) TABS. After POWER SUPPLY () is installed and wire connections are completed, install the COVER PLATE FRAME () onto the ELECTRICAL BOX (). Fig. 0a.. Install the two tabs on the back side of the COVER PLATE (6) into the two Slots located on the top edge of the COVER PLATE FRAME (). Push on bottom until it snaps into place. Fig. 0a. CAUTION Ensure that the line power to bathroom is OFF prior to making connections. Important: All cover plates must be removed before beginning to make daisy-chain connections. Note: For Unit # electrical instructions, refer to section #7 & #8a (page ). For subsequent Units, refer to section #7 (page ), as well as instructions below.... Connect one end of the 7" EXTENSION CABLE () to one of the two available terminals on the one end of the Y-ADAPTER ().. Take the 0' EXTENSION () and connect one end to the single terminal of Y-ADAPTER (), and the other end to available terminal of the previous unit s Y-ADAPTER (a).. Repeat process for each subsequent unit.. Place Y-ADAPTERS () into respective electrical box.. Reconnect the first unit s Y-ADAPTER (a) to power supply once all daisy-chain unit connections have been made. CAUTION: Use only American Standard supplied transformers and cable sets. 9 INSTALL CONDUIT, ESCUTCHEON AND SENSOR CABLE; Fig. Fig. 7. Drill a " diameter hole (shown in Fig. 9) in the finished wall for the CONDUIT ().. Slide ESCUTCHEON () onto CONDUIT (). Finished Wall. Thread CONDUIT () into COVER () and secure by tightening LOCK NUT ().. Make sure 0' EXTENSION CABLE (7), 7" EXTENSION CABLE (), CONNECTOR HOUSING (8), and CONDUIT () are inserted through the " diameter hole in the wall.. Slide ESCUTCHEON () tight against finished wall and secure by tightening SET SCREW (6). 0' 8 " Diameter Hole for Conduit 9 6 MAINTENANCE Fig. REMOVE COVER A ADJUST STOP VALVE; Fig. IMPORTANT: To avoid overflowing, the STOP VALVE () must never be opened to the point where the flow from the valve exceeds the draining ability of the fixture. COUNTER-CLOCKWISE OPENS STOP VALVE. After installation is complete, peel off the PROTECTIVE FILM () from the sensor. Standing to one side, block the sensor with your hand for 0 seconds. CLOCKWISE CLOSES STOP VALVE Remove your hand and listen for audible click from within the valve.. Remove STOP VALVE COVER () from STOP VALVE (). Turn on water supply / turn to / turn (CCW) and test for leaks. Note: Unit may flush for approximately to 0 sec. when water is first turned on. If flow persists, turn water off and repeat step # above.. Actuate the FLUSH VALVE: A) Cover sensor with hand for 0 seconds. TE: Stand outside of sensor detection area. B) Remove hand from sensor detection area; unit will flush in approximately seconds.. Adjust STOP VALVE () after each flush until the stated flush volume is achieved, no splashing occurs and the fixture is properly cleansed.. When adjustment is complete, replace STOP VALVE COVER () and tighten to ensure vandal-resistance. 8 M966 EN REV.. (9/)

B SET DETECTION RANGE (if Required); Fig. & Note: The detection distance is preset and ideal for most installations. Should an adjustment be required, follow the steps below.. To remove the COVER PLATE (), insert WIRE KEY () (supplied) into the two holes located at the bottom of the COVER PLATE (). Push the WIRE KEY () up until it releases the bottom clips. Pull the bottom edge away and lift the COVER PLATE () off. Fig... Disconnect the 7" EXTENSION CABLE () from the Y-ADAPTER (), and reconnect. Note: You have seconds to begin entering the program code after power connection is made.. While the SENSOR CONTROL LED () is blinking slowly, place your hand to in. (0-0 mm.) in front of the sensor. Fig... When the LED () stops blinking and stays ON, move your hand to the desired position from sensor and hold in place until the LED () begins to blink again. Note: Detection Zone is 00-800 mm (-/"x -/"). (Factory Setting: 600 mm (-/8"). Once the SENSOR CONTROL LED () begins to blink again, remove your hand from the detection zone. When the flashing stops, the detection distance is set. 6. Actuate the FLUSH VALVE: A) Cover sensor with hand for 0 seconds. TE: Stand outside of sensor detection area. B) Remove hand from detection area; unit will flush in approximately seconds. UNIT DOES T FUNCTION TROUBLESHOOTING FLOW CHARTS IS ANGLE STOP OPEN? OPEN VALVE REPEATED DOUBLE FLASH ON SENSOR? LOW VOLTAGE. TEST OUTPUT OF TRANSFORMER. MUST BE >. VAC. RECONNECT TRANSFORMER TO SENSOR. FLASH ON SENSOR FOR SECONDS? BAD TRANSFORMER. REPLACE. REPEAT. DAMAGED SENSOR. REPLACE SENSOR. PUSH MANUAL OVERRIDE BUTTON; WILL THE UNIT FLUSH? DAMAGED SOLEID.
