B1 The B1 Ultra Lightweight Race Car Seat 44.5cm External 39.5cm Internal 9cm 36.5cm Internal 106cm 76cm 57cm 60 o 86cm Ideal for sports, racing or kit cars, the B1 weighs only 3 kg and is made from glossy carbon fibre. The carefully sculptured surfaces of the B1 are such that padding is unnecessary, making it ideal for open topped sports cars. The seat has a saloon car seating angle and the swept away sides allows for use of either a full racing harness or a normal 3 point car seat belt. The seat is supplied with a Dinamica suede covered headrest pad as standard and can also be supplied with optional matching back and cushion panels at extra cost. The weight with covered panels is 4 kg. The B1 is side mounted using the optional TB1 brackets which allow the seat to tip and mount directly either to the floor or TR1 runner system. B2 The B2 Ultra Lightweight Race Car Seat 44.5cm External 39.5cm Internal The beautiful lightweight B2 seat weighs only 3 kg and is made from glossy carbon fibre. The seat is designed for a low inclined driving position, which is suited to race or track day vehicles. Due to the back shape the driver is curled into a small space, allowing this seat to be fitted into many vehicles that could not take a regular performance car seat. The B2 is suitable for a 5 or 6 point full racing harness (recommended on an inclined seat). Like most Tillett seats, the shape of the B2 is so comfortable it does not require padding, making it ideal for open topped cars. The seat is supplied as standard with a Dinamica suede covered headrest pad and has an option of matching back and cushion panels at extra cost. The weight of the seat with covered panels is 4 kg. To get the perfect angle the side mounted B2 has optional TB1 aluminium brackets. These can mount to TR1 runners or directly to the floor. TB4 brackets also fit the B2, these are a taller version of the TB1. B4 11cm 43cm External 36cm Internal 17cm 106cm 81cm 42 cm external width. 40 cm when the rolled edges are cut off 45cm 76 cm The B4 carbon / GRP seat weighs 3.5 kg and has been made to allow fitment into some of the narrowest vehicles around. (4.5 kg with covered panels) Although light, it is still rigid due to its twin skin construction and it holds the driver in a comfortable inclined racing position. The belt holes in the B4 allow a full racing harness to be used (a 5 or 6 point harness is recommended on an inclined seat). The shoulder holes have been optimised to enable the use of a Hans device. The B4 comes complete with a Dinamica suede covered headrest. Matching padded panels are available at extra cost. However, the shape is so comfortable covering is unnecessary, making it ideal for open topped sports cars. The B4 has six M8 mounting points; two are up high at chest level and give more mounting options. The four lower fixings are for the aluminium TB1 mounting brackets which allow the B4 to be mounted directly to the floor or on top of TR1 runners. TB4 brackets also fit the B4; these are a taller version of the TB1. 34cm across the base B3.5 B6.5 B3.5 and B6.5 Ultra Lightweight Race Car Seats The B3.5 is a thin, ultra lightweight single skin seat shell designed to fit in the narrowest of vehicles. The seat is derived from the inner surface of the B4 and has the same inclined driving position. Also available is the more upright but otherwise identical B6.5 which is the front surface of the more upright B6. They are available in either carbon/grp or black GRP and come with 6 special mounting bolts and a Dinamica suede headrest pad. By using these light flexible shells it is possible to use the B4 and B6 shape in vehicles where the vast majority of sports/race seats would simply not fit. The belt holes in the B3.5 and B6.5 allow a full racing harness to be used (a 5 or 6 point harness is recommended on an inclined seat) Due to their very thin and light 2.1 kg construction, they need to be used in vehicles where the seats can be supported high up on the sides and at the headrest. This can be either from the vehicle itself, if it has a roll bar and bulkhead, or from a metal support frame constructed by the customer. 11cm 43cm External You have the choice to order a 40 or 43 cm front. The two specifications remain the same size internally, the B4-40 is made to allow fitment between the gearbox tunnel and the door sill. A 40 cm front will fit a Caterham, Westfield and most other similar vehicles. With the B4-43 the rolled edge is left on, giving a more aesthetically pleasing line to the edge of the seat. Therefore, if you have the room go for this model. A lower cost black GRP B4 is also available. 11cm 45cm External 39cm Internal B5 The B5 carbon / GRP seat weighs from 6.5 to 7.6 kg and it has been designed especially to suit the Lotus Elise / Exige. This model has a regular saloon car seating angle and the small narrow size of the B5 means that it can be used in many other vehicles. The B5 sits the driver very low in the car which reduces the likelihood of hitting the crash helmet on the roll cage. This benefits the taller driver and also helps lower the centre of gravity. The side profile, developed from years of manufacturing kart racing seats, gives excellent support and leaves the shoulders free to help steer the car unhindered. The seat is also very rigid which adds to the handling feedback and feeling of security. Although the seat is small it can fit a surprisingly large range of driver sizes and the seat has been designed to be compatible with the Hans device. To give that extra bit of comfort, versions of the B5 seats are available with Dinamica covered soft padded suede panels. The B5 Carbon GRP has a carbon front and rear surface as standard. B6 42.5cm External 37cm Internal 34cm Internal 40cm with rolled edge cut off or 44cm external The B6 is a narrow seat suited to many kit and track day cars. Its driving angle is based on our popular Caterham R500 seat but it has some important differences. The headrest has been moved back to prevent the drivers head from being pushed forward when using a crash helmet and the shoulder belt holes have been designed to allow the use of a Hans device. The hip holes have also been enlarged to accommodate wider lap belts. The B6 is available in a carbon / GRP or black GRP version and comes complete with a padded headrest as standard. To give it that extra bit of comfort, the B6 is available with optional Dinamica covered soft padded suede panels. The composite shell is made so that the outer edge can be either removed for narrow 40 cm cockpit areas (B6-40), or left on to create a continuous rolled edge around the whole perimeter of the seat, designated as the B6-44. The mounting points for the B6 are under the seat as standard. As an option the B6 can also now be side mounted just like the FIA approved B6 F and can therefore use all the same mounting bracket options. With the standard B6 (which has bottom mounts), the TR1 Tillett adjustment runners can be bolted directly underneath using the TK5 fitting kit. By using at least 40 mm of spacers under each M8 mounting point, the B6 can be bolted directly to the floor without runners. The Tillett 51 mm diameter x 5 mm thick Nylon spacers can be used for this purpose and they enable fine adjustment of angle. The seats are supplied as standard with a Dinamica suede covered headrest pad and as an extra cost option you can order them with additional padded Dinamica cushion and back panels. The weight of the B6F is 7.5kg or 8.5kg including the cushion and back suede covered panels. With the B6F You have the choice to order a 41 or 44 cm front. Please note that only the B6F44 is FIA homologated. The two specifications remain the same size internally, the B6F-41 cm version is made to allow fitment between the gearbox tunnel and the door sill of restricted cockpit cars. TB F5 brackets are made from the same 6 mm high grade anodised aluminium as the TB F1 and point outwards. TB5 is a powder coated 5 mm thick aluminium version of the outward pointing TB F5. TB FIA brackets also point outwards and these high quality brackets are FIA crash tested. EB F1 is designed for fixed fitment to Elise and Exige. (The B6F XL will not fit in an Elise) 55cm 60 o 25cm 82cm The B6F XL-47 is 30 mm wider than the regular B6F, it also has raised shoulder seat belt holes for the taller driver and the 47 cm wide version is FIA homologated to 8855-1999. On the B6F-47 XL, the rolled edge is left on giving a more aesthetically pleasing line to the edge of the seat, therefore due to this and the FIA homologation, if you have the room in the vehicle go for this model. The B6F-44 XL version is made to allow fitment between a narrow gearbox tunnel and door sill in restricted width cockpits. The specifications of the 44 and 47 versions remain the same size internally. The weight of the B6F XL is 7.7kg or 8.7kg when including the suede covered panels. They both have side mounting points as standard which allows adjustment of height and angle when using our racing brackets TB F1, TB F5 and TB FIA. These fit the seats rigidly down to a flat floor giving the lowest possible driving position. EBF1 brackets are also useable on a dropped floor or when sited on top of runners. The B6F XL seats also have additional upper mounts and also a headrest mounting point. B7 41.5cm External 37cm Internal The B7 is a lightweight, high specification version of the B6F. It has the narrowest dimensions of any FIA 8855-1999 homologated seat and at 3.5 kg we believe it to be the lightest. It is available in two versions; The B7-40 has a maximum width of 40 cm and the B7-44 has a maximum width of 44 cm. The two models are the same size internally and are both homologated. The 44 cm version is for cars where there is room for an aesthetically pleasing smooth rolled edge around the leg area. The seats can be ordered with Dinamica panels as an option, this adds 1 kg. The B7 is totally rigid when mounted using its 4 side mounts, but for those that want even more security, the B7 has extra upper mounting points at the chest and headrest area. It also has the option of using the TB FIA mounting brackets which have been tested with the seat. These brackets are immensely strong and beautifully machined. B7-40 / B7-44 Carbon B7-40 / B7-44 Carbon with Dinamica suede panels 34cm Internal The B7 has five types of bracket options. TB F1 brackets are made from 6 mm thick anodised aluminium and point inwards under the seat. TB F5 brackets are made from the same 6 mm high grade anodised aluminium as the TB F1 and point outwards. TB5 is a powder coated 5 mm thick aluminium version of the outward pointing TB F5. TB FIA brackets also point outwards and these high quality brackets are FIA crash tested. W1K / W1i The W1i Tillett car seat is extremely narrow yet it can still accommodate the majority of drivers up to 100kg. The shape is internally the same as the B6 but without the headrest. This makes it suitable for an application where there is already a headrest support in existence. You have the choice to order a 40 or 44 cm front. The two specifications remain the same size internally. The W1i-40 version is made to allow fitment between the gearbox tunnel and the door sill of narrow vehicles similar to a Caterham or Westfield. With the W1i-44 version the rolled edge is left on giving a more aesthetically pleasing line to the edge of the seat. The W1i is also available with a floor mountable backframe. With this backframe it is possible to mount the seat directly to the floor or onto the Tillett TR1 seat adjustment runners. The weight of a W1i with the backframe is 3.5 kg and 1.9 kg without. The W1i moulding has two smooth sides making the seat more attractive than the handmade variety. The W1 shape is the seat most suited to Formula Student University projects. W1K The W1i shape can be ordered in handmade carbon/kevlar. The ultra-lightweight W1K carbon/kevlar shell is only 1.1 kg when bought without a backframe. Both the W1i and W1K can also be ordered with or without covering. A half covered example is ideal for open top cars. Not visible in this picture. W2 seat shown is with optional backframe The W2 is a handmade XL version of the W1i. It is available in carbon/kevlar and GRP versions. The seat can be ordered with a floor mountable back frame, which is a secondary moulding bonded to the back. This makes the fitting simple and the seat is then able to self support itself from the floor. The backframe enables you fit the seat onto the Tillett TR1 seat adjustment runners. The weight of the GRP W2 without the backframe is 2.2 kg. The weight with a backframe is 3.6 kg and the weight of the Kevlar version without a backframe is 1.1kg. Seat belt harness holes are included as standard. The seat can also be ordered with or without covering. A half covered example is ideal for open top cars. W3 The W3 is an inclined handmade version of the W1i and the driving position is suitable for formula racing vehicles. You have the choice to order a 40 or 44 cm front. The two specifications remain the same size internally. The W3-40 cm version is made to allow fitment in a narrower cockpit. With the 44 cm version the rolled edge is left on giving a more aesthetically pleasing line to the edge of the seat. The lightweight handmade carbon Kevlar version only weighs 1.1 kg. Seat belt harness holes are included. A 5 or 6 point harness is advised with this inclined seat. The W3 is also available with a floor mountable backframe which has four M8 fixings integrated into the moulding. With the backframe the seat is self supporting and it is then easy to mount the seat rigidly to the floor or on top of the Tillett TR1 seat adjustment runners. Brackets for the B1, B2, B4 seats BRACKETS TB1 side mounting brackets are made from 5 mm thick aluminium and point inwards under the seat for a minimal footprint. The W4 also has a floor mountable backframe option and is available in the same material specifications as the W2. This 3 mm thick steel mounting bracket set is designed to fit on the existing Elise/Exige runners and allows the driver to adjust the angle and height of the B5 seat. They can be used with TR1 seat adjustment runners for road use and also with an uneven floor which is lower between the mounting points. 1.1 kg TR1 The TR1 adjustable seat runner sets are made to be used in conjunction with our car seat brackets, The runners fit directly to the bottom of the W1i, W2, W3 and W4 seats when fitted with the optional backframe moulding. The runners also fit directly to the bottom of the standard B6 seat using the TK5 spacer kit.
